I've never drop tuned in the past 14 years and OMG doesn't it sound beautiful and it opens up so much of guitar playing to so many levels and I've only learnt the first bit but had to stop to write this, it's brilliant but got to carry on now
Angela, Ive watched several of these videos and you are doing an awesome job, acoustic and electric. The fishman gear is tops too. Huge Thanks to you and fishman for this series!
Great video Angela. I’m an intermediate player and a B+ songwriter….love the drop down D on the high E string tip. Every alteration in tuning seems to give me multiple new ideas for songs.
So Angela…I’ve seen this in “Standard tuning”, I’ve seen it in drop “D”, and now Drop the high “E”. Ever changing tune. I think my Yami AC5R likes both….drop D’s. thank you for thinking outside the box. Great Job. 😎
Thank You , Angela ! ! I was ending up with fingers here , there and every 'kin where ! You simplified it perfectly .... Southend on Sea , Essex , UK - 5 minutes from the Pier . Fave song : any of the Classics from Moulin Rouge , but Ewan McGringle's "Your Song " is probs the best .
Actually the best lesson for this song that I have found. Sadly, My partner thinks that I like it because your a girl! Weird woman. But nope, that tuning the E to to D is perfect. Has is the way you play the intro. So best lesson for the song thank you.
Hi Angela, I don't know if you take requests or not. But...but..if you do....would you consider Cinnamon Girl? That drop D on the high E string got me to thinking about it. Thanks!
Dazed and Confused is favorite soundtrack. However, this song in Reservoir Dogs is so well-placed that it's hard to hear it without thinking about it. I can't even remember what other songs are in that movie. That's pretty crazy because Quentin Tarantino is so good at the music making his movies more memorable. Linklater is the best at that, then Mr. Scorcese. QT is right there, though
Sorry I couldn't watch this live today. I am looking forward to the lesson late Sunday evening though! My favorite movie soundtrack is the 1980 flick The Blues Brothers - The most freaking awesome soundtrack EVER, but would you expect less from the Blues Brothers who were on a mission from God?
Angela, you might be one of the best online Teachers. Not sure how to request a song? I think Dancing in the moonlight might be a good selection or anything by Wilco.
Battening down the hatches a mile from the beach with a hurricane on the way up the coast. favorite movie soundtrack: "Performance" Ry Cooder Jack Nitzsche Randy Newman Buffy St Marie Merry Clayton The Last Poets & some vocals by a guy named Mick..
I play it in D tunning one tone down on all strings . and in key of E A and Bm7 etc I think original recording was tune downed to D and used a 12 string with a 6 string acoustic. Might be great idear to do a vid on it in D the intro is Abit different when in D . I checked original recording played along and it sound spot on .
Welcome to the channel! Be sure to stop by and say hello during my livestream this Saturday at 3p EST. There's a nice crowd in the chat. Everyone is really supportive and kind!
Land of Lincoln, fav. Soundtrack from Django, "Who did that to you" John legend..and "welcome to the real life" by Sheryl Crow. In the movie stone cold with the Boz. And 🙄 Don't throw stones by the crusados from Roadhouse
