I didn’t learn till I was 72ish. My first wheel was a 14” swag roller , to small to slow, I upgraded to a V8 f and it’s great and soon I will be getting a V11 cause it seems to have all the improvements I can use. Lots of country roads and more miles and I sure don’t need 50 mph. Oh the headlight is made for me ,it seems. Now I need a deer Deflector. Whoop whoop!

There are people who take a long time to learn. To those people I want to say to persevere!! Not all learn fast. It took me 3 weeks or maybe more. But I did and I'm glad I didn't give up. I am very happy on my electric unicycle. Gracias por tu video!!

I got a second hand monster a few days ago and using similar techniques taught in a video by wrong way I was up on it within an hour and riding up, down, and around my parking garage. I cant stress the one foot riding trick enough, it was the sole reason I was able to gain the confidence to put both feet on without using my hands. The acceleration one is spot on too, as soon as it gets unstable accelerating up to a healthy speed corrects it.

Excellent. Maybe the best. Belt idea good, scratching and crashing your new EUC is a psychological barrier to learning. My V5F if i raise the handle and ride backwards does the same. Eventually it becomes a crutch, but once you ride around the block with the handle up, you know you definitely can do this. 2nd point, speed, shoot out fast, once you get a little speed, the unit becomes self-balancing and you just stand there. Then came the death wobbles, another waypoint in your journey. EUCs are the ultimate PEV.

Seriously, I feel like I get it. I will be patient with myself, but I swear I feel like I will ride at least a bit the first day. Already seems like I’m riding like a pro on my V12. Recently started learning to ride backwards, talk about throwbacks to when I first started riding. Slowly getting better with that, riding longer distances, still feels freaky because the brains trying to process those new movements. Just trying to relax while standing more upright than trying to force the wheel. Was that a male “Karen” you ran into at the end of your video or just making small talk with the guy? Only caught “would you just rather read a book” at the end. Oh! U-Stride’s was talking about pairing EUC riders for challenges. Might wanna check that out.

😎Nice 😎 Kids climbing frames are a good place to learn too. Especially if they have the rubber soft play surfaces. Hold the climbing frame, work along ladders etc... I counted 5 hrs before I could ride in a straight line. The soft surface is actually harder than on hard surfaces and the one I learned on had humps around too so learned orientation switches going along angled ridges too 👍🏻 They are like phones though, as soon as you k ow they are going to get stratched and banged up you just jump off them in a crash ha ha ha 😂 Teuly brilliant pieces of kit.

Very interesting and informative discussing the dominant foot. I am right handed but my left foot is always facing forward on my skateboard or my surfboard or my scooter. I can balance and steer on my left foot regardless of what my right foot is doing, whether I'm pushing off the pavement or just hanging out in the air, my left foot is my centerline of weight and I can steer with it. So just like a skateboard, the left foot is planted on the EUC and I push off with my right foot and slowly bring it up?

i started with KS16S ( after wacthing your vidéo ) yea original ^^ but let me tell you : GOOD MUSIC + a kingsong KS16S for beginners is a perfect match .. know i just got a V11 . My brain doesnt like the sensation he is trying to compare of course the V11 is way more heavy.. i feel like a drive a school BUS ( i know most YTBers say its like driving a LEXUS or a cadillac or smth but i feel i fly more on my little KS ... what i dream is a KS 16 S with more range ( we always want that) and yea maybe suspension but for the rest i really hope i will survive and appréciate the new learning curve of this V11.. im not the kind of guy who want to offroad and stuff like that or just a bit of trail. What i foundstrange . most of the professionnal riders ( i understand why you love BIG wheels but still ... im not yet ready to tell i enjoy to ride a 18 with a bigger weight./ Feel less manouvrable / more slow to turn ( hope is just a wrong impression because when i see you ride this beast > you rox as always . Cheers from belgium anyway/

@Berniz123 10 месяцев назад
I've done 300 miles already, 2 main things that help with feet fatigue. First - ensure your heel is at the end of the pedal, not sticking out. Second, learn to lift your heel for 10-20s when riding. Same with your toes, it's enough to release the tension and have no fatigue anymore. You need to practise it for a while though I can even do it at 20 mph speed and as soon as I feel fatigue I just do that a couple of times and no more issues!

If you are just learning, don’t use the pads to start with, they are just another complication. Once you can mount, ride, turn, brake and dismount without too much difficulty…then start using the pads. Personally I rode about 500 kms before I put pads on the wheel. Anyway..good luck and enjoy 👍

This is so awesome. We live in Thailand. And my wife and I want to get an A-2 as our first EUC. we live on an island that's 81 miles round. And we love walking but after this? We want to go for it. Thanks. James Ray Bond. Duan Bond. PS Hopefully when we bust our ass. Learning? It will be for our eyes only... Sorry couldn't help myself. From Thailand with love.

Important note: Everyone's brains work differently. My first EUC was a 60lb+ model and I struggled with the balanced, 1 leg 4-5ft stable riding approach when teaching myself. I did the kitchen stuff, then I just kept free mounting and flailing my arms to balance until I was able to push past the lack of balance and get to ~7-8mph, where I could cruise around the parking lot. It was ~30 minutes in the kitchen, then 30 minutes of parking lot before I could ride. All of these tips are GREAT -- but for order of operations, listen to your brain and what it needs and adjust accordingly. My brain needed to feel what it was like to be moving while balanced. After that, low speed riding was SO MUCH easier because I could trust the stability.

At 7 to 8 mph, most EUCs will become stable and self-balancing (left | right). I was also using arm flailing for balance and direction control at 3 to 5 mph in a tennis court, then moved to a long straight where I felt comfortable riding faster. At around 7 mph, I no longer had to make any balance corrections, and could just stand still while riding in a straight line. I knew that nothing had clicked, but instead I was just going fast enough for my EUC to become stable. Learning to turn by tilt steering (inner foot down, outer foot up), took a bit longer to do well, having to coordinate how much to tilt the EUC versus how much to lean. At lower speeds, the EUC is tilted more than the rider leans, at higher speeds, the EUC is tilted less than the rider leans.

I learned to ride seated first and now I am struggling with standing riding because of wobbles at low speeds. Am I clamping the EUC between my legs too hard or are my feet wrong....?

Does carving only help at high speeds?

no belt, jut theory, and I agree, calibrate wheel, and and lean like a smooth criminal! lol,

How do you stop? Also, I live on a hill, how do I descend?

just lean back, a little side to side carve motion also helps. But leaning back is how you brake. Same for hills just lean back

@@choochtech Gracias senor. I have a professional exam to prep and sit for and When I pass it, I’m going to buy myself a uni. I’ve got a long narrow hallway I can use to get my bearings. I like what you said about the gyroscopic system. It does the work apparently. We just have to trust it. I will be in touch but thanks for this channel. I’ve subscribed.

sounds like good advice. I'll try some of your tips. OMG that guy at the end, wouldn't you rather be doing something more worth while like reading a book... Listen, I love the idea of reading books but dude... get a life. I think these EUCs are gonna revolutionize urban travel AND be a blast in rural areas. Sure you can't carry a lot of weight and equipment but for a trip to the store for a bag of veggies and some dip this is awesome.

note: the belt mine came with almost damaged me it turned off the anti spin button. It is really hard to ride with the motor off. But it belt was good the rest of time.

Firstly thanks lots for a nice tutorial. Unfortunately unlike the 45 minutes average you mentioned, i am one of those slow ones. In your video the EUC seems to stick to your foot and never flip the other way. In my case though, it just falls off and have the will of its own and i am left staring dumbly like a guy whose gf just took off with another guy. Seriously, my EUC just dangles around and does its own thing most of the time. I am using the ninebot A1 so its kind of all shiny and smooth but yeah, its like trying to grab the hair of a monk. So guys, any tips will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Hey @Choochtech I been riding for years but today I got really nervous because as I was riding back home after riding for a couple hours my when kept leaning to the left. Do you know why that would happen?

You might have had a muscle in your back tighten slightly if you were a bit tired. This tends to bend your body slightly to the side and cause this slight imbalance..

@@martinsaunders2942 I would have never thought of that! That's very interesting and good advice.

I absolutely loved your idea about using a belt, that's genius! I haven't seen anyone else suggesting it, but it makes so much sense. The old dude in this video came up with an ingenious solution. He strapped shop brushes to the bottom of his foot rests to create training wheels. It worked perfectly, and if you're a janitor you have the added bonus of being a Zamboni! ru-vid.comVMHT875k2IA
