The fact that he recorded the cats voice himself is really awesome!

I think what makes the Simon's Cat series so entertaining isn't simply the premise, or even the general mannerisms of the cats, but actually the fact that the portrayal of the cats is totally spot on. They don't just do funny things, but they do unexpected things, and sometimes things that make no sense, but all the while, they are being 100% accurate cats... well... 99.9%...I've never seen a cat gesture to its mouth for food or bean a bloke in the face with a stick, but everything else is completely familiar to anyone who has cats. The cats aren't just abstract representations, they're really really believable as actual cats, and the series is just highlighting some of the real, but funny, things cats actually do.

This represents a new zenith for Simon's Cat Logic to me. Education, entertainment and (cat) character development all in exquisitely perfect proportion. At the end when the litter goes flying everywhere and they both start crying for food while Simon groans...I laughed so hard that I actually cried; couldn't tell you the last time that happened to me. Ive learned from a feral colony ive been visiting for a while (+/-2yr), the more you low volume talk to them and the more time you spend around them theyll start making noises at/to you. The big alpha male of the group was full grown and now he does this hissing/meowel thing while headbutting and brushing our legs only when we are getting the food to put down

My cat meows really loud whenever he wants attention. He also rubs against my leg and blocks my view of the tv.

Just like my late Boris. He was eight months old when I rescued him, and at first I thought he was mute. But I'm a very chatty owner and over the years he became a chatty cat.

I have two Thai-Mixes. They're siblings and they love each other. So when they're looking for each other, they meow really loud and the other one instantly runs to its sibling. They do communicate vocally a lot but not only with me.

I love your cats and the way you draw them! Especially the tiny details like the kitten's eyes getting bigger for a split second when he does his thing on the cat toilet! LOL

My cat (kitten) used to curl himself around my neck and sleep, purring in my ear. 💗 As he got older he would sit on the back of a chair watching the ceiling fan rotate while moving his head slightly, then after 5-10 minutes would attack (jump in the air trying to catch the fan, never caught it tho. LOL). I would love to see this animated... Also everytime my mother came to visit, he would come do his leg rub hello and then step into her purse laying open on the floor beside, circle round and round inside her purse and then cuddle himself down in it to sleep. Of course Mom loved this. RIP both.

I think my cats are learning how to talk from each other! The middle kid Ace (adopted from a shelter after his first owners dumped him there, very domestic, highly chatty) always mews when he wants us to open the door for him. Our youngest, Misty (Abandoned to die on the side of the road, made her way almost a mile at only 2 months old to get to our house, the most feral of the three and rarely meows unless she's brought dead frogs into the house and wants us to see) has recently started making the same mew when she wants to be let in, even though she's never done it before. Is this common for cats?

Your cat vocalizations are spot- on! I especially like the short and sweet cooing -purr- mew, sound, like a song. My felines do it when feeling particularly fond and friendly. I can actually purr just like a real cat! Love your work!

On some 'meowing', occasionally, I see one or two will have a minor face-off on my porch and will meow to one another as a mild sign of concern with each other. I take care of the feral and/or abandoned kitties in my m.h. park, nearly 20 of them at this date. Been doing so for about 7 years. Certainly a learning experience, great little folks to have around for the most part.

I have a Maisy type cat. Didn't meow at all at first, since she was a feral for the first 4 months of her life. Now I can't get her to stop xDD

What a wonderful video! Our cat was called Spitfire by the rescue centre because he was a very hissy spitty little kitten. I fell in love with him while I was helping out there and soon took him home. Now he is the most contented little cheeky cat I've ever had. He doesn't meow, though I didn't realise his chirping in the mornings were solicitation purrs - thanks! He also sings a little chirpy-honk song whenever he is doing something cool (like standing on the banister) and wants you to check him out and tell him what a good boy he is, such a show-off. Here's to many more years of trying to understand our quirky felines.

I take care of all the strays and drop offs *sigh* (live in the country). They've multiplied, disappeared and reappeared over the years. I pour the food onto a tray outside and they all gather around and eat together or wait until there's room and then eat in another group. I've never had food guarding behavior with them. Even the dogs will steal bites alongside them... or the cats will steal bites from the dogs food lol. The cats even get along with roaming possums and share food alongside them *huh*.

Teddy looks and sounds (by your description) EXACTLY like my wife's cat Mongo. A big, huge, fluffy ball of love who is so sociable that all you have to do to get him to come towards you with his tail perked straight up and chirping all the while is to look at him for more than a brief moment. Problem with Mongo is he doesn't meow, he squeaks. 18 pounds of burly male long-hair, and he SQUEAKS. heheheheh.

Lucky me-my Cora speaks English. Even swear words!! I'm hard of hearing, I once accused her of meowing, not speaking words. She said "I am!" I said I was hard of hearing, she said "didn't hear me!". That's me told.... She's an 18 year old Burmese.

Well, there´s one more sound that can be heard approximately at 2am during summer. Or rather two sounds together... We all know what that means...

My cat was so chatty later in her life, I often had more constructive conversations with her than most people. Probably because even when we first brought her home as a little kitten, we all spoke to her like she was a person. None of that baby-talk. Treated her like that all 16 years of her life. She was hilarious, my little partner in crime. Whatever her personality was, she fit right in with my sarcastic smart-ass family.

I found our cat Eddie had passed away in our yard yesterday afternoon. I wish he could of told me he was sick. I had no idea.

Simon, I have a black cat that looks like teddy, and an orange tabby named Maisey as well. Maisey means pearl in greek, I looked it up.

While watching this video, my 4-month-old rescued Bombay kitten became very interested in the sounds and attempted to reach into the screen to participate. So I would say the sounds are quite authentic sounding. Good job.

My cinnamon is a rescue Kitty and she doesn't really meow that she absolutely has to otherwise she squeaks is what we call it LOL but boy can she purr sounds a little broke but it's there

Lovely series, format and treatment. I've developed useful and rewarding two-way communication with my two cats. I've found it important in doing so to be consistent in how I acknowledge and affirm our supportive bond. When cats give me information, I interpret it as them sharing a specific emotion they want a specific response to. They aren't simplu commanding me to do something, being superficially chatty, or limited to asking me too feed them, pet them, or picked them up. As is the case between people, what a cat seems to be telling me overtly, is not necessarily what their underlying feeling of need or want is. For example, when a cat repeatedly ask you to pet her, it may not be about her wanting just some transient instant gratification, rather hat she is expressing feeling significantly insecure for some reason, or detrimentally bored or lonely, or that she is anxious for you to groom the parts of her body that she can't reach on her own. I always try to acknowledge what my cats are telling me, that I understand there feeling.I then teeassure them that our bond remains strong, such that I physically act towards addressing their feelings appropriately. In practice, I may not have time to, say, groom or give them stress-reducing play time, However, I at least groom or play with them for even just ten seconds, because it's more reassuring to them that not doing anything. It tells the cat the type of responds I choose, which, in turn, tells and reaffirms to her what type of relationship we have. Acknowledging her feeling and her need, and then responding constructively to her goes a long way to encouraging her to express her needs to me politely, rather than her feeling so unhappy and frustrated that she expresses her heightened emotions with urine or claws.

My cat doesn't purr at all, she just started meowing only when we aren't near her or in the middle of the night.(Btw my cat is 5 years old we've had her a while I also don't know the species of my cat neither does the vet lol)

Daisy Cat only meows when she's trying to locate me. She, too was rescued from a feral colony at about 6 months old. Most of the time she uses a "silent meow." When we received her, her rescuer said, "She's a good eater, & she purrs easy," which was a purrfect description of her!

I've been rescuing cats for more than 25 years. Those sounds were spot on. I had the earphones in so that my two cats wouldn't hear and go batty. Didn't work. Freyja decided to come and nest in my lap so she can "help" me type this comment. BTW, my male cat, Beastie, has this low, geriatric-sounding whine when he wants his breakfast.

My first cat Mickey (miss you, buddy) used to give a meow when he's nervous or anxious , normally when we'd travel. But at home he hardly meowed, only purred and when he was really happy and content his purrs would be deep and can be heard about a foot away from me. He was a Manx so they normally don't vocalize. Gershwin, on the other hand (cat I have now), is vocal, especially during the wee hours when he's bored. He chirps when he's happy to see me, does a combination of a chirp and meow when he wants something.

The Siamese cat that lives opposite where I used to live meowed constantly. Surprised her meow didn't break. Nice pattern that she'd meow at her door as owner was at work and we'd pop over the road to give her a fuss. Nice mutual benefit.

One of the most fascinating sounds my cats have made is when they're hunting. Hunting a mouse she makes a mousy squeaky sound. Hunting a bug (mosquito, fly), the sound is an almost inaudible clicking or buzzing sound.

Mine responds to my loud morning farts. She gets me.

my sisters cat is cinda annoing beachous when my sister goes outside he meows like a half a hour before stopping and when she comes back he starts it again but won't meow long this time and when he's hungry he climp's your leg... and when he is bored he brings you a ball so you can trow it and he brings it allways back But if you don't trow it he starts to eat your fone charger wires or your headfones wires. he is a cute litle devil

I love the sound of Simons meows. I took in a feral 5 month old street kitty and she makes odd sounds. She doesnt like to be pet, have been trying to get her to like it but its not happening. She loves to play so that how we bond :)
