Learn to Tie a Prusik Loop 

This is not a lesson in tying a prusik, it is simply a demonstration of tying a loop (which has many potential uses) using a standard bend known as the barrel, grapevine, or double-fisherman*. The result is a prusik loop if it is used by attaching the loop to a rope using a prusik knot (not shown). Note that each half of the grapevine is an overhand knot with at least one extra round-turn before the feed-thru of the end. * A fisherman is similar, but just using 2 overhand knots. I see no danger in this vid, but for life-safety application, always use multiple sources of training, preferable by a professional instructor.

How to tie the knot: Make sure you're not in full focus and that most of the knot is hidden behind your hands. Then finish the knot quickly with vague instructions.

Not a Prussik loop!

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you. I knew this once but "misplaced the information." I tighten the double fisherman with my foot in the loop so I can pull with the strength of both arms. Again, thank you for sharing. Stay safe!

Bad vid; not very clear what you're supposed to do. Also : there are a lot of twists in the rope, which will increase wear and tear and decrease its strength. But then again, it's only you hanging from it with your life, right? Good luck with the redo of your vid :)
