Correct terminology! Hoorah! Sewing video please! The technical work that goes into shooting and editing videos that show everything so clearly is always appreciated.
ALL YOUR VIDEOS ARE SPOT-ON, YOU ARE THE REASONS BEHIND MY SUCCESS IN FASHION SCHOOL. YOU DELIVER MORE THAN WHAT I'M GETTING FROM MY TEACHERS IN SCHOOL.I CAN'T WAIT TO RECIEVE MORE KNOWLEDGE IN CUTTING AND SEWING WITH LACES, ZOE. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS 🙏🏾 🤗
Can't wait to watch this video. You've inspired soo many person including me, especially with the " bitter truth" that you state. Thank you soo much Zoe
Lace is my jam, so LOVED this! 🤗. Notable about double border lace (as in your white Alençon example): they are meant to be cut, following the design along the middle, essentially giving you twice as much fabric. Because, as you mentioned, border lace is used to finish edges. When separated along the middle, the cut part (not being as dramatic as the scalloped edge) allows for a soft transition from face fabric to scallop trimmed edge. Ultimately, you need half the amount when ordering the lace, which is great considering Alençon lace is expensive! Also, many people are not fond of eyelash, so it is worth mentioning that it can easily be trimmed off leaving the scallop clean edged. -RoxieCouture
Very helpful information thank you Zoe. Would definitely like a construction 'how to' video, that would be fantastic. Kind regards from North Wales UK.
I’d love to see a sewing lace video. Cutting out and sewing and lining lace. I have a pink tulle fabric with Guipure daisies about 3cms each one and an even pattern throughout. It has lots of space between each daisy so it needs lining. Love your videos, will share with sewist friends. Many thanks
hi, I'm living in Korea, graduated from Art school. Lately I've started to learn fashion design. Your video is very useful for me. Thank you so much!!!!!
Not a fan of lace, but loved the interpretation! I can not think about wearing lace without soft lining beneath it! Lace is more of a decorative piece of garment to me than comfort. In that case silk, cotton, leather, fur etc. would probably win the show when it comes of comfort.
I always end up watching Zoe's old videos and seeing this recent one. PLEASE the glow up. she lowkey looking younger too. LY ZOE!!! and thank you so much for these videos!! I'm doing a short, kind of a crash course for fashion design, and your videos always teach me what the teacher didn't have time to explain or you go way more in detail. I really appreciate your hard work and dedication. Love from Lebanon!!
Hi Zoe this video had a lot of info I love lace and when the designers make something exquisite my mouth drops wide open. I have some Rose appliqués that I,m going to apply to my Jean Jacket. I think I,m going to chest and use some fabric glue and just attach in various places. I can see you making a nice dress with the lining in that yellow fabric. I love the lace with scallops. Let’s not forget about Corduroy when laying fabric with a Nap. I went to HS of Fashion Industries and I,ve been sewing since I was 9. Love creating beautiful things. Getting my pieces ready for my Jean kimono Coat.
Thanks for this video Zoe Hong all you mentioned its so important when making the best use of fabric! I can't say it enough we live in super exciting times. We have access to great information through things like youtube and channels like yours Zoe Hong. As well as the image quality digital cameras provide so we can see detail and textures. This video for sure is an excellent fabrics class!
I just bought some beautiful sequined lace and just realized that I have never actually worked with lace or sequins before so this video was super helpful.
Thank you so much for the description and explanations of all the different laces. This has been very helpful for me to decide which lace will be most suitable for anything I make or design.
This video come just in time! I accidently bought too much lace for my project and now I don't know what to do with it. I would love a sewing lace video!!

I just found your video and I got interested your vlog about kinds od laces...great to learn more from you. More vlogging topics about sewing. I'm a dressmaker so this kind of topics will helps a lot. Thank you.
YES! sewing videos please! & it would be great if you could add in what kind closure is best for the different laces? I have tried guipure lace + lining with invisible zip but it hard to slide it up & down cause of the thickness. & chantilly lace with invisible zip as well but it cuts in the lace easily..

What would be a good lace embroidery fabric for a duster cardigan!? Love this lace 101 definitely saving and using as a reference! Thank you so much for teaching us all♥️🥰
Came here because I’m trying to make a black lace shawl (hypothetically for the funerals of my enemies), I know it’s not ambitious at all but this information is so so helpful! Thank you!
Please do another video on sewing and construction with lace. I just started a 5-7 outfit collection and one of the fabrics is lace, and will likely be backed with organza in a lot of the garments, or layered on another fabric, and I would love to see more videos before I sew it. It's the most expensive fabric of my four, and that terrifies me.
I love your style of teaching as Im learning through enjoyment.I would love any of your vlogs, especially sewing with lace..I'm a new subscriber and am so glad I found you through your collaboration with Daniela Tabois.
