I can tell you that the people you're talking about are listening, cuz I'm one of them! I'm hyperlexic, meaning I can read well and very quickly but struggle understanding material at the level I read, despite having a high IQ. As well, I have ADHD and am on the autism spectrum. Even as a music teacher, I struggle with studying. I get very little out of reading or studying if it doesn't involve moving my body or actively listening to or creating music. I listen to preachers like yourself, Mike Winger, and others because your way of presenting biblical truths stimulates my brain in a way reading can't. As it turns out, the dots and lines racing across the screen on these APJ videos are a tremendous help; they give my eyes something to focus on so my brain can understand what you're telling me. Thank you, Pastor John and everyone at DG. You are a tremendous resource for Christians like me. God Bless you all.
You might think the people suffering with this issue is not listening, but we do. We do not like reading much, but listening is one of the methods to help overcome some of these struggles.
God Almighty is bigger than everything in this world. God the Spirit is able to get you seeking the Lord. Without reading the word is not enough. Sermons are great but are not enough for true redemption.
Sometimes is a matter of finding the right motivation or the right technique. I would encourage anyone just to keep trying different ways and persevering. I remember at school I couldn’t understand one of my textbooks, but then I got another textbook that said the same thing in the way that I did understand, so I went from knowing nothing, to knowing a lot very quickly
As John Piper says, there has to be a way for each of us to take steps to 'grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ' (2 Pet 3:18). If someone hates reading and study, God will either provide another way or change them so that they don't hate this. That said, even if a Christian hates reading and study, as long as this feeling remains, he should still force himself to read the Bible daily to some extent. To avoid reading Scripture totally is not an option.
2 Timothy 2:15 - "study to shew thyself approved unto God" --- Unto God. Not unto Piper. The scriptures clearly rebuke and reject Calvinism. There is no Calvinism in the Bible. Calvinism is learned in a seminary, and theology books, and then brought to the scriptures. It's like putting on your calvinistic lenses, and then reading the scriptures through your calvinistic lenses. If your understanding of the scriptures comes from John Piper, then you need to get away from John Piper. The Lord does not create people for Hell. But that's what Piper believes.

@@19bmase That is far too simplistic. I am not a Calvinist myself. However, your argument doesn't follow. Just because Calvinism has some wrong ideas, as I think it does, that in no way means that a Calvinist Christian teacher is necessarily going to teach more error than truth. A large majority of what John Piper teaches doesn't depend on specifically Calvinist beliefs. The subject matter in this video is a good case in point. In my view, a large majority of what Piper teaches is very good. He strikes me strongly as a genuine and devout man of God. So I would encourage you to take each subject as it comes instead of ruling a teacher out of court simply because he is a Calvinist. I am reminded here of the Christian apologist William Lane Craig, who uses some arguments for the existence of God that originated with Muslims! Craig is in no way endorsing Islam, but he is rightly looking for truth anywhere it can be found. If it is OK to get some insights from Muslims, how much more from Calvinists?

What do you mean by Falling Away? So you believe somebody can lose their salvation? That's what Piper believes. Get away from the false doctrine of Calvinism

Today work extra miles at work and did many sales by His grace ( Ephesians 2:8) today and gave it to whoever responsible and also outside of work gave my tip to someome i do not know on my way home at the street = homeless. But if anyone slap you( make you knee down and hit you with their usually right hand with on your( or our ) right cheek) ) on the right cheek, turn to him to other also. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic ( tunic could mean "an undergarment" imagine ones are so sick to tried to take your undergarment or tunic that is sick or no good right there) , let him have your cloak as well. ( please take it) 41 And if anyone forces you to go one(1) mile, go with him two(2) miles. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. I remember after work i gave a male coworker a ride and that male coworker ( R) intentionally lead me to tolls area while i gave him a lift and another male coworker(M) i volunteerly pay tolls to give him lifts and he help me to set my GPS to avoid tolls. The place i go do not need to pay tolls so he help me to avoid 2 times paying tolls already. I like to pay tolls when tolls is due like my wife said but not try to intentionally make a coworker to pay extra toll for you while i offer( R) a ride. Some are nice and some are.... fill in the blank. Which one is good to you? In Jesus'name, i pray( James 1:5 😊❤). Amen. One was yelling at the office, saying.
