Your explanation that the original earing was probably made of tin or some metal makes sense, given how silver and shiny it looks in the Vermeer's painting. I think I would be tempted to "cheat" and use a photo of a pearl as a reference, to try to "out-pearl" Vermeer. :) You did a great job of capturing both paintings, and I particularly like how you made the first gal's eyes a little more sparkly.

Hello! You don’t have to be proficient at all as all my tutorials come with a sketch outline you can trace 😊
