this is so fun! you're right that you have to listen to them say it, in order to get the real pronunciation since the romanizations can be misleading for learners. for example, the double p (pp) sound is more like a strong b sound (balli) and or like a pb combination, like "oppa" would be something like "opba". a lot of the basic Korean consonants actually sit somewhere between English letters. what i mean by this, is that usually when they use a single consonant sound (like the first j in jinjja) it is actually pronounced somewhere in between a "j" and "ch" sound (this also applies to "jebal"). the "r" sound in saranghae is actually somewhere between "r" and "l". g sounds are typically between g and k. this is not to be confused with the "ng" consonant which is a single consonant (think the word "hung" in English, it is not pronounced "hun-guh", it's simply "hung"). and so on. when jungkook said "ah jinjja" the "ah" is moreso an exclamation, not part of the word (something like, "oh really?") so just "jinjja" is correct. also, it might be easier to think of these words as syllables, rather than letters. so for example, in your last video when you learned "annyeonghaseyo", the separate syllables are an-nyeong-ha-se-yo, and you pronounce them one by one. same with saranghae, which would be split into sa-rang-hae. the "eo" sound is something like an open-mouthed "o" sound, not quite "oh" but also not quite "uh" - somewhere in between. actually, in "hyung" which you learned here, it could also be romanized as "hyeong", so you can use that as an example for what that vowel sounds like. the way "hyung" is spelled in English can be misleading because the romanizations are inconsistent, but most of the time, the "u" vowel (like in yeoreobun) is pronounced "oo", like "boo". when you see the vowel "ae" or "e" it is pronounced something like "eh", not like the letter "A", but more like when you'd say "eh, that's okay". it's a bit difficult to pick up because bts speaks fast as they are fluent, so you might miss some syllables when listening. i speak Korean and english so i thought i'd provide some information in the "english context" to clear up any confusions. korean is a relatively consistent language so once you understand how the vowels, consonants and syllables work, it can be applied to almost any Korean pronunciations. honestly you guys are doing great at listening and picking up pronunciations. keep up the good work!

He said "ah-jinjja" just because of the tone and context. Its just like if you were annoyed and saying "ah, really?" while like complaining/whining.

Nope, it’s just Hyung. You’re hearing them put their name in front of it … So.. Jin Hyung. Said fast it can sound like jihyung, or Jin hyungie, which is not only showing respect, but closeness. 😌💜
