Wow travelling makes us expand our horizon, including learning about other religion and culture.
On this episode, we are learning more about Islam, specifically about the history of the most unique mosques from all over the world!
We had an amazing time visiting Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI) or the Islamic Heritage Park in Kuala Terengganu. We also visited Masjid Lapan Kubah (Masjid Russia/ Russian Mosque) which we think is the most unique mosque in Malaysia, Masjid Ulul Albab Seberang Jerteh (Wodden Mosque/Masjid Kayu), and Masjis Kristal (Crystal Mosque) which we think is the most beautiful mosque we have ever seen!

Actually islam already exist before the prophet muhammad. Prophet muhammad is the last messenger in Islam, before that we have many more messenger, so it's not strange that there are islamic heritage place even before 1400 years ago. Even kaabah in mecca was built before prophet muhammad is born

The mosque in Malaysia used to be simple with the rooftop looks like the normal Malay houses but in 19th century, the British used Moorish dome design as they like it and it has blended to the building of the local mosques and many government buildings until today. The surviving old mosque can be found in Kelantan (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kampung_Laut_Mosque) BTW, nice drone shots!

@Liverpool FC for that issue, look back to our Malaysian history. Your ancestors sudah sign agreement social contract before British give us the independence. If tak puas hati, ask your ancestors why they did sign the agreement. And back to the discussion topic, the majority in Malaysia is Malay, so logically any foreigners will promote n support us as the majority because the majority is the symbol of a nation. Contoh you pergi Jerman, takkan you mau promote chinese punya culture di sana sbb mereka minoriti. Fikir logik la bro. Don't be triggered because of the fact that you never can deny it. If I'm not mistaken, before we have the loud speaker system, the dome itself helps to produce loud sound for the Imam (leader of the congregational prayers) when he recites verses from the Al-Quran. So the people behind him and following him can hear his recitation and also know the movement in the prayers. But now the mosques are mostly equipped with loud speaker sys and I think Al-Haram mosque in Mekkah has the biggest and running for 24hrs speaker sys in the world 😁

to be honest, i kinda like the weathering effects tho...it makes it looks real and ancient and something that is old but gold...dont cha think if it looks bright and shiny it will look a bit artificial and fake? at least this way all these mosque llooks standout

This is so cool, never knew this place exist. But anyway, if your ever come to Johor.. again, there is a place in Ayer Hitam that have replicas of monument such as Statue Of Liberty, Great Wall Of China, Pisa Tower, Spinx, Borobodur and so on. The place is called Tropical Village. Too bad Parliment Hill or Dundurn Castle is not included.

6:20 let me guess. It's the structure for internal air ventilation and thus natural cooling system inside. That structure somehow reminds me something i saw in abu dhabi long time ago.

Hope government or any organisation will do something for preserving this tourist attraction, quite sad it's lack on maintenance...need more marketing and more information about one of the attractions in this place, BTW good video 👍🏻

They should build a higher platform so visitor can enjoy seeing the miniature mosque from different angle which is from above

National mosque dome resembles an umbrella 🌂, on the tower a close umbrella. 1 open, 1 close.

Just so you know the onion domes on cathedrals in Russia if you look in to history is in fact based upon Islamic mosque architecture. Also the spiky looking mosque from Niger pronounced 'nijare' looks the way it does because it's made from mud the protruding wood reinforces the structure.
