@@relay_exe3009 practice makes perfect not talent 😂 a talent by definition is something you’re naturally good it not something you train for that’s called “sports” try and clown on me but you don’t even know the definition of “talent”😭
It does, most trials bikes they're almost unnoticeable because they make them to the profile of the upper frame, same place as mx bikes but it's hard to see from there. All to do with making the bike easier to balance
Some friends and I were riding the Trans American Trail on KLR 650's a few years back and we came across a downed tree like that, about about that size, across the trail. I used to ride trials bikes so I didnt even think twice about hopping over the tree. My friends couldn't believe it, nor could they do it, so I ended jumping the tree trunk 5 times to everyones bike on the other side. It was a good day for me because I made it over the 1st try on every bike.... I still have my 1975 HondaTL 125. I bought it new. Im 72 years young...😊
@jones616 I'm 72 and have wrecked more than I want to tell my wife. But, I'm still active and enjoying my motorcycles. I ride ADV bike now over Cruisers and dirt bikes. Much more comfortable, and I can lay down some serious miles on my 1200 cc Tenere over my Ducati. I'm still riding my 06 KLR bty. 156K miles on it so far.
I’ve taught freestyle skiing and snowboarding for nearly a decade. I’ve seen that look a lot. That look says “holy shit that felt good. I crushed that right?? Like that felt so good, if it’s wrong I don’t wanna be right. Shit I’m good at this. You saw that right? Hell ya.” I live for that look.
I read something recently about how motorcyclists and to an extent cyclists, are modern day mounted knights or even cowboys. Two wheeled machines trigger the part of our brain that made our symbiotic relationship with horses. Also gearing up to ride is like putting on armor before a battle.
Learning dirt bike skills can also hone your cycle skills to the point where it will actually save your life on the street if you ever decide to write Street bikes. I recommend all cycle Riders to start with dirt bikes because there's less chance of getting hurt in the dirt when you're learning as opposed to dumping it on the concrete.
Excellent!!!! The most fun I've ever had was climbing over rocks and trees at 3 mph. on a trials bike! Mine was an old Yamaha TY-250 back in the 1970's. ;-)
Recently started basic trials as a way to help my technical riding and have found it to be quite enjoyable in its own right. Great to see Megs giving it a go!
That was good ,What?. That's 100s of hrs experience and building confidence to let us see a tiny bit of this riders talent. Never stop the world is yours
At Mole Lake bluegrass festival in 1980 I had a Bultaco Sherpa T-350, a man in his 90's stopped me, asked if he could ride it. He went up a 12 foot chain link fence, stopped up top, fence sagging slowly, He rode it down - kept feet on pegs and hopped - lept the bike away from fence...landing it onto the ground both tires at same time at my feet, got off and smiled and wiped a tear of happiness. He had a natural skill and OBVIOUS MANY decades of experience. But he knew my bike better than I did. I'd NEVER seen such delicate mastery. He did tell me to ditch the gloves, as they prevent me from feeling things...said "Get rid of the gum rubber grips and wrap the bars in bicycle rim liner tape soaked in shellac." I heeded his words and I got to the point that I could climb a leaning tree and navigate and turn 180 on a picnic table. Vintage trials might get me!
Started watching you a few years ago; watching your progression is awesome and makes me wonder how much better I’d be if I stayed as dedicated and wasn’t nearly as busy. I’ve got a new house with enough room for this now and you’re seriously getting me motivated!
Just brilliant. The coordinated use of front brake, rear brake, clutch, throttle, position, balance and weight shift must be the physical equivalent to playing time controlled chess. Plus everybody gets to enjoy the smell of burning castor oil. Or at least we did back in my day.
That made me remember my Bultaco Sherpa 250 - AND the similar super fit, Pocket Rocket sized young lady, I lived with in 1977! A great trail riding talent you have there young lady!
I love watching trial bike comp. So much skill, talent, and balance for these. And what are they,250cc engines maybe? Wish they'd show more of these on tv
Lovel your content, saw you years ago on some video talking about small enduro riders. Couldnt stop watching your content since, but jesus, you make trial bikes look big 🤣. Greate ballance, keep it up.
I don't like calling that a gift that makes it less of an achievement. it's not like she is doing that for the first time. She is working hard for this !
@@mikethompson7046 everything is a gift my friend!..some are more gifted than others in certain areas or things..for example megs braap is more gifted than 95% of riders with her excellent balance ...u got or u dont
Just gettin into trials at 58 , used to mx ride when i was younger , thought to myself how hard can it be lol i soon found out , you have great balance , keep it up
Great job. That takes talent. I'm used to jumping them on the fly. Hare scrambles and Enduros you don't have time to go slow over trees like that. It's down shift ,collapse the front end and gas it hard, with a bit off luck and you're over it quickly.
That's alot of power to start with, should've gotten a smaller bike, so it'd be easier to learn on. Plus it's more fun to ride a slow bike 🏍 fast, than it is to ride a fast bike slowly!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
I have ridden plenty of dirt bikes, four-wheelers, street bikes and HD's but I have never ridden one of them and always thought they were neat as hell and it would be a very cool skills to learn. Bravo to her for looking so cool and calm jumping over that big ass
I wish I had a trials bike but I’ve been doing a lot of static balance practice on my te150 just gotta get some fat logs around the property to practice some double blips and other techniques on!
I like this angle so much better then the rear view i saw last time. Although i thought i did click do not recommend channel after that video ig your lucky. keep this side shot and i dont mind watching
