I'm genuinely impressed by this video! I knew that greek and russian have their own similarities but i never expected them to be so many and thanks to you..now i have motivation cuz i know cyrillic so i must try this challenge as well! It also made me think about Graeco-Armenian hypothesis about the bunch of similarities of armenian and greek. Cuz this two languages are even more alike and it kinda explains the whole migration thing from Armenia to Greece. Great video as always!
As a native I would like to note that you have to learn the alphabet, the diphthongs, the double consonants and the "tonos (τόνος)" - as it is called in Greek - which is the stress mark. Good luck!
Thanks so much! I try to enjoy the process (both of learning stuff like this and making videos ^^ ) and when it comes to Sindarin, I may have something planned, although not a lesson per se
Great work for just 24 hours of studying 👍 In order to get to the level of master you should study the sounds of the different diphthongs like : οι, ου, ευ ... And also the " ' " symbol is where you put emphasis in a word for example "περίπτερο" the letter ι is stressed. That's all, hope I've been helpful.
Thank you! I forgot about the accent marks during the test, but now I know about them. The diphthongs are a bit more difficult, but also a lot of fun ;)
I believe that ei, oi are monophthongs like [i]. Ai = [e]. Ou = [ʊ]. They're all monophthongs. Sorry I don't have Greek keyboard. I hope you understand.
@@Artreii greek alphabet is a base for cyrillic, because Kirill and Methody wanted to translate biblio books in slavic, so they took greek alphabet, and made some changes, for example letters like ш (sh), ч (ch), cyrillic alphabet is more accurate for many languages than latin and greek, because it has standart - 1 letter = 1 pronounce, not like latin, where there are three letters for one sound - k
@@nikich2186 Yes, it's definitely a more... I don't know... streamlined, purposeful alphabet, the Cyrillic one. The history of it is awesome, too, so thanks for that much and I'll definitely read more :)
