Hi all, thanks for watching our video! We still don't know why the algorithm picked this one. It's both a dream come true and a terrible, terrible curse. We mostly make silly gaming videos so if you're into this kind of content, be sure to check out the rest of the channel.
@@ChristinaWintherLolk Yeah well then he should have said that the US was England as well then, I mean, that's technically accurate if you're 300 years old XD
As a french i agree😂 but not for the ww2. Just to add something for the culture two days ago it was the comemoration of the 200 years of the napoleon's death
As a swede, seeing him go towards sweden whilst trying to guess switzerland fills me with existential dread and pain that is unfathomable to most people.
@@larkinthesky The constant mix up of our countries is so frustrating lmao. Switzerland is a beautiful country, but it's not the same as Sweden and vice versa.
@tygattyche2545 - asking for anerican states it’s like european would not only ask for the countries, but also vor french departments are german „Bundesländer“…. Think a lot of anericans don’t even know that these exist….
@@IZaubermausI So like not too few german taking africa or the north american continent (for some reason Canada is often missing out) as one country. Or ask (western) germany for the names of the new [sic!] east germany states and vice versa. There is a good chance to get humilating results.
@@Aecrim1 I know. But he is widely considered french and his territory, which widely consisted of the area that is France now conquered the territories of the germanic tribes that today make out Germany. So I consider him and his country french to a certain degree.
Strike 1: he doesn't know where Greece is and its the first country thats asked on the quiz ffs Strike 2: *FRIGGIN SOUTH MACEDONIA ERMAGERD EF EF ESS* Strike 3: Cyprus has the damn country on their flag Gah, sometime being a Greek on the internet is an experience like no other.
As a Norwegian that has gotten 100% in around 1 minute on this quiz, this brought pain to me aswell (I would suck at US states but he didn't even know where Poland and France was)
also, US states arent common knowledge for strangers. like i dont know norvegian regions so why should i know us states? it's such a shame not being able to place big countries like france, poland germany etc
@@thebaguetteguy2207 states become important knowledge with time They are big, as big as european country, they just don't have the deep history. Those that already built some history are well known ; Florida, California, Texas, for example can be placed by most people. Arizona, new mexico, washington, new york, lousiana, michigan, nevada are well known too, Alaska and Hawaï are easy... But the middle is just the biggest farmland on earth. And a bit of desert. And emptiness. That's cool, but there's no reason to know them all
I was really surprised an american spotted 46 percent of europe. I was expecting around 7-10. I met two american guys at a hostel in Amsterdam. They thought Amsterdam was the country name while they were there. They said they heard a lot about Holland and asked me how to go there. Then they wanted to visit the Netherlands as well. The final question was the cherry on top: “How many countries are there in the NetherlandSSS?”
As a portuguese i am quite surprised so many americans today can identify Portugal on a map of europe. Quite surprising given that less than 10 years ago the vast majority of americans didnt even knew Portugal existed. Amazing.
@@jabanan the typical Russians that are stereotyped are usually European whereas the Asian ones are more mongolic asian featured see the siberian tribes and the eastern tribes in russia
It really hurt my soul, when he couldnt come up with the idea that austria, aka germanys little brother, is next to germany... Then i remember how bad i am at geography and how much worse i would do, so i really shouldnt judge. You 2 are really sweet, so in case you are reading this: I hope you have a nice day.
The thing that I consider one of the craziest is that ok, in Europe there are a lot of countries and some of them are really obscure, but all of them have a specific shape and people can memorize where a country is on a map using this strategy. For example, Italy is known as the boot shape country, or Bulgaria, using some imagination, looks like a bull (that's my mnemonic strategy to memorize countries shapes and locations). But for some of the Usa states is literally impossible. Can someone tell me the difference between Wyoming's and Colorado's shape? They are frickin' SQUARES!
To be fair the flag is suuper tiny🤣 Edit; ah there was another flag up in the corner🤣 didn't see that there haha I thought man these people have amazing eyesight to be able to see that teeny weeny flag there next to the cursor😅
He was about the level of some of the pupils I taught last year. Granted those pupils were about 10 years old, and the ones he beat were the ones that couldn't care less about other European countries :). It is a great side. The kids were always allowed to used the page as extra in my class, when we were using computers. We also worked with different spatialmaps, but we sadly didn't get as much into orienteering, as I had planned.
@@abdullahkerem3175 yes. And if you don't believe me go check what Harvard Yale and Cambridge universities say about how slavic Macedonian is. Maybe I'll tell you because your broke ass may not have enough money for internet connection. Slavs aren't Macedonians.
@Antoine B de M Cool talking about ethnicity and all but I haven't said anything about it and it wasn't the subject to begin with. We're talking about countries owning others and especially France owning Germany. And Charlemagne Empire and before that Carolingian Kingdom, was France, and it in fact, owned the predecessor of Germany.

Being unable to locate such "classic", mainstream countries as France, Greece, Poland, Switzerland... That's incredible. It's a bare minimum for anyone, even a non-European.
bruh u gotta get me in here. i know every country of europe and where it is from memory used to do this quizes for fun all the time when i was bored in school
I don't think he clicked mainland Russia though. If you look closely there is a cut in the video, I think he clicked on the Kaliningrad exclave above Poland.
Well they speak Spanish in Argentina, French in Senegal, German in Namibia, English in Singapore, Dutch in South Africa and Portuguese in Brazil. As a German of course I know where Switzerland and Italy are located, and I could locate most countries in Asia and the Americas. With Africa I'd have a harder time though. Like ask me to find Tansania and Zimbabwe and I would have difficulties.
@@mediterranean8702 yes I know that, but people on other continents don't. Do you know what languages people in Angola spoke in the middle ages or what languages they speak in Bhutan?
I don't know how is it in the US but in Europe some geography teachers are beasts. We had quiz periodically after we finished a continent. Like we finished Europe and we wrote a test. It contained a blind map. We had to fill in the country, the capital and basic info about religion, race, nationality and economy. Also had topographical, hydrographical blind maps. This was since 5th grade. Than in high school we had capitals. 20/test + diseases.
Never seen a Cyprus flag or even heard of the country, how would that help? xD The alien planet gloobgob has the planet on its flag so ez how can you not recognize it lmao xD

@@goongoozle4028 i am from Cyprus, and that's not even close😬we are an EU member state, but everything else is not European, Geographically we are in the Middle East/West Asia, and our Culture is Levantine or Middle Eastern in general, even tho we have strong ties with the EU member states, we have much stronger ties with our neighbours in the Middle East (i.e. Lebanon🇱🇧, Syria🇸🇾, Iraq🇮🇶, Egypt🇪🇬, Palestine🇵🇸, Saudi Arabia🇸🇦....)
Just gonna say there are Americans that are amazing at Geography, like me. I can name 197 countries by their flag and I’m literally in 6th grade. I did it in front of my whole class and everyone was speechless, even the teacher.
Almost all states of USA alone have greater economic reach than all of the balkans combined. You should have said cultures and historic importance... Edit: ppl still not understanding that I mistaken the last word for economies
@@canaljumps So you think importance = economic reach? I think it was pretty obvious GDP wasn't what I was measuring... it's really the only criteria that you can use to justify USA states being as important as European countries, *slow clap* for you.
For me its Funny how they compare knowing a country's states to knowing the location of countries. Maybe the level of challenge for an individual is the same but in reality its not the same thing. So to have a fair challenge it should be both marking the names of the whole worlds countries.
@@FenrizNNN But they don't teach the american states here. Like do you know how many "states" there are in the world? Neither do I but I assume at least twice as many as countries. Like why would our schools teach about american states, yes some American history contains some of em but not geography. So my point is more that don't all countries teach the countries on every continent so wouldn't that be the most fair comparison.
It’s really funny seeing your Polish friend have some very weird SPECIFIC knowledge about US geography. The Kentucky chicken nugget thing is something even I didn’t know. Also briefly forgetting Florida and New York but instantly knowing South Dakota KILLED me.
