I love how Olivia is so comfortable doing this RU-vid thing! She and Adrian Diaz smashed it last year with their incredible free dance - I'm super stoked to see what she's been able to teach Nile this year!

As a former figure skater, I am SO impressed with Ash and Jay! It’s harder than it looks and you guys smashed it!

Love that Jay is always ready to jump in with a group of world class athletes who have had much more physical training than she’s had. It could be so intimidating, and she just gets in there and does it.

Nile to WIN 2023 dancing on ice

My husband is a retired professional athlete in a completely different sport [auto racing]. A couple of years back, our neice missed making the Olympic Ski Team by only two young ladies, which was obviously devastating. She still skiis for pleasure, but she decided she wanted to give racing a go & my husband started coaching her. The one thing that blew his mind & impressed him the most was that she was so "coachable." He couldn't give her instruction & she could do exactly what he said. He gave her feedback & she'd immediately make the correction. When you spend your whole life training for something, like gymnastics in your case, skiing in hers, or driving/racing in my husband's, when someone gives you instruction, any instruction, you're able to input into your brain, quickly process it & put it into action, without hesitating, without thinking you can't do it & without needing to do each & every tiny little thing a hundred million times like the rest of us. Coaches at that level are expensive & they don't have time (& likely parents don't have enough money) for you as a child - young adult to piss & moan, complain all the time, have attitude or generally just need coddling and/or convincing all the time that you can do it. They weed those kids out pretty quickly. It's an amazing skill to have that serves you well, probably in more ways than you may even realize. As always, I am incredibly impressed by you both. Excellent job!

This was so much fun to watch!

After gymnastics, I took ice dancing and then figure skating and loved it. They even have adult competitions and it was so much fun. Maybe you and Jay could do it! It was a great thing to do because I loved having something to work towards and competing was loads of fun!
