Learning Thursdays: Family Engagement 

As clinicians, many of us have been directed to “engage families” in the prevention, treatment, and recovery process, but few of us are ever effectively taught just how to do this. This presentation presents on why it is important to engage families, how to approach this process, and clinical care recommendations for clients, significant others, and those at risk.
Learning Thursdays is a recurring free learning opportunity geared toward New York State's addiction and substance use disorder workforce. After you have familiarized yourself with content, go to the OASAS Test Portal, complete an exam on the material, and receive a Certificate of Completion that will go toward the renewal of your OASAS professional credentialing. Some courses are also approved for NYSED Social Work continuing education hours.
