Kindred 4e. Agree she is a master of building the info/world/characters. I was so tense reading that book. I read self help with a huge critical eye. It’s almost never intersectional. Enjoy your new library books!

Mental health took a toll and I found myself overwhelmed by the library. Until I let go and start taking only 1 or 2 books a month (instead of 10 to 15, when I'm in a better place mentally). I'm glad, you found gold advice to help you out. I dont know why, I always seem to forget that reading is supposed to be fun, not painful. It's not a duty, it's a hobby!!!

I'm so glad that I was able to help with your library system! Maybe I should make a video explaining it all because I never thought about the fact that my system might be helpful to others 🤔

That's awesome. As a librarian I know we are just happy the book is circulating and I don't ever mind extending holds but as a reader also I appreciate the sort of balance many readers try to have, in consideration both of their time and those who are in the waitlist after them.

"Rincey is wise in all things." lol! I tried suspending holds a few times, but my library system doesn't have the bugs of that feature worked out yet. I find that I tend to read backlist titles anyway, so I don't worry about checking a lot of those out at one time, even if I never get around to reading them; if a book has other holds on it, I try to read it right away, or be very realistic about my never reading it and just return it right away. It's obviously frustrating to be on a hold list waiting forever for an item, and to know that it could just be sitting in someone's house not doing anyone any good; I don't want to be that person!

I have no library management skills & am entirely a mood reader so I often check out books 2 or 3 times before finishing them. Especially if they're nonfiction. But I belong to two libraries plus I use Hoopla so it also happens that sometimes if I don't finish something but find I want to, I can get it again fairly quickly from at least one source.

I have almost the opposite problem with the library holds. I've used the suspense function for a couple years now, but my problem is that I keep suspending things. it's gotten to the point I have too many books on hold that I'm now next in line for but am indecisive which to checkout so i keep suspending the holds. of course the ones i do want to read rn have long hold times. on the bright side, I'm not holding up the line and others are able to check them out while I'm trying to sort myself out haha.

Ooo, I try to pause my holds and guess when things will come in but have not been nearly as successful as Rincey so I need to learn these techniques
