I was very touched by a song the praise team sang this morning at church, called "Goodness of God". I've heard it before but it never touched me so deeply as it did this morning. The chorus goes like "And all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God". I was just overflowing with gratitude as I thought about how all my life God has been good to me, specifically how he has walked with me through all the heartache and trials I've been through. Another thing that's cool is although my car stereo doesn't work, God put a song on my heart on the way to church, a song we used to sing in church years ago called "I Love You, Lord". I was already worshipping God before arriving at church.

You're very blessed to have a housemate who checks up on you when you are sick! Good discussion here. I can relate to what you said about how we tend to forget the blessings and answered prayers. I'm encouraged by your positive attitude despite being sick. I like to stay positive when I get sick also. It's easy for illness to get a person down. I've seen the movie "War Room" a few years back and it was intense! I saw it again last year. Great movie about the power of prayer! Praying you get well soon.

I just got through watching a RU-vid video titled "Oprah Winfrey, This is Why You Never Mess With God..." from a channel called "Off the Curb Ministries" and now after watching it I want to pray for Oprah for salvation. I believe God led me to that video because He wants me to pray for her. I probably wouldn't have even thought to include Oprah in my prayers if I hadn't seen this. I felt led to post that here so you can and any others who might see this comment can also pray. The things she said on the video about God and Jesus are far from the truth and I pray that the Lord opens her eyes to the truth.

I didn't think I would be posting here again but I wanted to share an important lesson God is teaching me about not leaning on my own understanding as it relates to understanding God's Word. This has been heavy on my heart all day. I posted this on Facebook and wanted to share it here. This week I've been thinking about my understanding of scripture, particularly understanding those passages I've had a lot of exposure to at church and now know by heart. It would be easy for me to read one of those and say I understand it but hold on, do I really understand it? Sometimes my understanding can be flawed or maybe I understand something somewhat but not fully. That is, I'm missing something. I'm reminded of a verse that has actually been on my mind all week, Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.". That tells me as far as scripture is concerned to not rely on my own understanding but ask God to open up my understanding. There are probably other applications for that verse too but that's what I get from it. This is one of those times when I'm like "OK God, I'm listening. Teach me what I need to learn here.". Anyway, wanted to share this on your channel. I think having a flawed or incomplete understanding of scripture is common to everyone, not just me. It's something we are all prone to and that's why as we read the bible we need to lean on God and let the Holy Spirit open up our understanding. Pray for me and I'll pray for you too.
