I clicked on your vid to learn more about the double clutch lures and it was really good to hear what you had to say around fishing in general. I've fished all my life but still consider myself a beginner and you are right about spots - explore, try different thinks and keep learning.
Good response Dave! I’ve had to deal with a few people in my time who wanted me to stop making videos. I simply said no, I love doing what I do and sharing my knowledge with others. I’ve fished the same spots from my videos over the years and have still caught fish. Fish come and go from areas and not everyone is after a feed too. Good video 👍🏽
Thanks mate you do great work one of the best in our local area. It’s just a small part of creating content, no way around it I enjoy creating videos passing on a little knowledge I guess we just keep on doing it 👊
well said Dave! My new boat that I’ve had for a year or so stands out like the proverbial, and I’ve had a few people say hey have u been watching Dave’s videos .. or lowys videos… I say no mate I’ve been fishing in a shit box up here since mid 80s ! and you are right there are fish everywhere…. and I reckon your best spots will never be on a video ! mitch
Great vid as always Dav. I'm more of the option that where you see blokes fishing roughly, is to run over the ground and get to know what to look for on your sounder...
Keep the video's coming, Dave ... I cop some negative feedback myself from my youtube channel ..... even negative feedback from people I know saying stop giving away spots , I don't advertise where im fishing ..... i enjoy making content and alot like my video's , like you said, what do we do , Just stop making video's , I dont think so .... the water is free for everyone to fish . No one owns a spot .... there are fish everywhere in the lake and in the river . We all should be so grateful on the options we have in Newcastle ,The harbour/ river system , Lake Mac and Port Stephens , get out and enjoy it I say .
The solution is not necessarily "stop doing videos" the solution for those who think somewhere is "their spot" is to stop thinking it is "their spot." I don't own the spot near the bags at Stocko, I wish I did.
Keep up the good work, I grew up in Fern Bay, know the area well, I now live in Karuah, I've always done my own research into the best Flathead spots, it always depends on the tide, wind, sunny or overcast. I always catch a good feed. I use my experience to pick the spots, if I don't catch anything I move to another spot, it always pays off. Thanks for your videos, I still learn from you, especially some techniques, as even at my age, I can always learn something. Thanks Dave.
Thanks Dave I’ve been fishing the Fern Bay Area a lot lately coming in on the rising tide fishing the shallows hugging the main road at fern bay along the Mangroves and up into the fingers and into the cove beautifull amazing area shallow though you need to know we’re your going
That's spot on, I do a lot of shallow water fishing up here in Karuah River. It's all about exploring. I love it. Hope to see you one day out on the river. Have a great day, Dave
Another top video Dave thanks so much for sharing. I’ve been fishing around Soldiers Point and Shoal Bay for the past few weeks in the kayak with zero success. Perhaps you should head up this way and show me how its done. Tried dozens of different lures and plastics………. Nothing. I’ll keep trying. Thanks for the tips and the great info L Always look forward to your videos Cheers mate
Hey George I don’t know anything about fishing Port Stephens but there are a lot of fish there. Just stick to the basics with soft plastics if your not catching your in the wrong spots maybe at the wrong stage of the tide move around a lot keep going you will crack it. Maybe even take a trip with the local charter guy she were and how he is fishing tight lines
Unfortunately Dave a lot of viewers just look for spots and some creators go to great lengths to try to conceal their location but it doesn't work . i look at the spot and try to understand why the fish are there and this usually leads me to other spots that may be even better!
You can slow roll it or give it a twitch twitch pause the shallow it is the more you hold your rod high on the twitch and pause. The Flathead are some times right up in the shallows and sometimes not they move around a fare bit
