In my copy of the ebook I couldn't open any of the videos. I asked on Sew Curvy about this and she sent my query to the publisher who sent me the videos. Such good service.

I've never made a corset but I know with regular dressmaking you don't mess with center front. It looks like it's cut on the fold so it should stay straight. Only trying to be helpful not superior sounding 😀. Good luck. It is definitely fun to learn something new.

My corset wearing days are definitely behind me, 😂. However, I am so excited to watch your journey on this, Mel. I find this very inspiring indeed. These garments are so lovely. Mx

Thanks so much Marie, it’s interesting to see how they are made xx

Really interesting - thank you. Love your inspiration images - looking forward to seeing you make one of those - the dresses with tulle skirts would really suit you, I think. And those embellished tops are just gorgeous, and would be a lovely think to work on in the dark winter months.

Looks like fun! I'd love to know how .... maybe one day. I do have to add, we are so lucky that we had strong women before us blazing the way so we don't have to wear them. Thank goodness it's a choice 😁

Your absolutely right, definitely thank goodness it’s a choice. I’m more fascinated by the craft of making them than the wearing of them xx

Hi. I purchased a kit from sew curvy. I also bought the video course from corrsettraining. Net. I have made my first mock up but I am struggling to get the 2" even gap where the lacing is.

I also have that kit and, like you, I have difficulty getting the 2" gap on my toile. Mainly because when I pull the laces at the top the bottom loosens and vice versa. If I can overcome thise I will get the 2" or at least very nearly. I must point out that I am a larger lady with lots of squish which is probably why I have this problem with the lacing. I want the corset to give me a smoother outline under a vintage dress from Charm patterns.

@@lunasmum6869 I bought a custom corset 15 years ago and the lady who made said a corset must be tied in the middle. So you pull the top, then the bottom and the bow is in the middle. Maybe this will help. Unfortunately a couple of children later and my custom corset does not fit, hence I would like to make one. The charm patterns are lovely.
