Ryan and Carlos of The Butcher Shop FX Studio unbox and test out DigiLegs Stilts (also known as digitigrade leg extensions) for the creation of an upcoming Monster Suit and take them for a test run. Ryan's first time on them! The first few minutes were rough learning to walk, but surprisingly Ryan moved along on them amazingly after a short time.
Digitigrade is a word describing how animals walk on their toes without letting their heels touch the ground. These leg extensions are great for animal-like costumes like werewolves, dinosaurs, and Xenomorph aliens.

Imagine learning to walk in a room and at a height where if you fall, no one can save you, and you will probably break your face. Cool stuff though. Glad you didn't get hurt.

I understond the risk and took it very slow at first. They were very easy to get the hang off. The shop was full of people that day so I wasn't alone. But yes it could have been very dangous and I should have had a helmet... But I survived and it was really fun day!

@@TheButcherShopFXStudio Heh, just be careful when moving faster than a normal height jog. A helmet won't work if you faceplant at 35 mph!

How long would you be comfortable standing in those stilts? I’m thinking of getting them for my haunt acting character but those nights usually go for 5 hours with a small break in between

Hey Colecopeland7022 that would be a better question for the people who make them. We just followed the in box instructions and they worked great for us!
