Don't worry how messy it is Max, we all have to learn somewhere and for your first attempt it is fine. Just do as you are doing grind it back flat and as its being hidden it doesn't matter as long it serves a purpose and you protect it properly.

You are doing fine , I taught myself to weld I was using an arc welder on classic cars for about 4 years when I was 17 then got a mig welder when I was 20 odd which was a game changer.

Absolutely loved watching this, i love how u explain, everything ur learning/ mechanical & welding, iv been trying to find someone to teach me/ n restore my transit iv had for 15yrs, been parked on canal 9yrs,iv welded an exhaust, a burner n a couple of sculptures, but never inner/ outer sills etc, id love to actually do loads of the work, but with someone who knows wot theyr doing, plus iv been doing vids for my channel to show my progress, stripping her out,ready for the rebuild, been traveller since early 90s, n had 6 vans & one double decker bus ❤, really excited to do a different lay out n rebuild after 15yrs, just have to get welding n couple of other jobs/ tyres to get her mot ,ur videos inspired me so much, so hoping i can find someone,!! Im.doing my stall at - Vanlife festy 1st june,Shrewsbury, so hope i can find someone local to Midlands while im. There, wanna get back on the road again, cheers bab 👌🙏☮️🌞

This is when I 1st discovered you and have Subscribed to your channel -Yaaaaaay. Well, We all had to learn somewhere, Many Moons ago I self-taught to Ark Weld but never have I attempted to Mig Weld. You and I are learning around the same time here around Mig Welding. Absolutely loved watching this video, I liked how u explain, everything Ur learning / mechanical & welding, I like the way you make Mig Welding look so easy - How did you find Mig Welding if I may ask. What Mig Welding settings do you have your Mig Welder set at for sheet metal welding on your van. What Gauge of plated steel have you used. Rust is a Bastard, holes are ALWAYS BIGGER than first appear 😡 Plastic is an oil based product, so you might have been lucky. Nice old Mk2 Jag, BUT be WARY, DO NOT allow Long grass underneath it, those Jags are Notorious for RUSTING underneath REAL BAD!!!!
