Lisa's husband, Jeffrey, came back from deployment with PTSD and depression. She learned to recognize signs that he was having a tough time, and discovered ways she could help him. Reflecting on her father's experiences after the Korean War, Lisa is thankful her husband is getting support right away and improving his life.

This doesn't just happen to those whom have been in the service, these streets are many times worst than the war. I've fallen for someone whom is going thru this but it's triggering because I've been thru extensive trauma as well but I really wanna help him , without going nuts myself in the process tho😔

I got my complex PTSD from the streets. (Civilian, not military)

@@sppss617 Funny I just had this Convo with my man. The trauma from war is labeled yet the street war trauma many of us barely survive isn't taken into nowhere near the same consideration.

I can sense her suffering. You can see it in her face and voice (towards the end). I sense her pain 😥😓

I used to have ptsd from a lot of childhood events and, at least in my case depression medication did wonders to me, and I was going to psychologist that couldn't prescribe medication and therapy alone wasn't doing anything

I pray each day that God a Jesus will Holy Spirit to get me through each day. Not only does he have pzTSD but physical ailments. I am the only caretaker. No one helps me. I would be crying if I was doing this interview.

Canada has legalized cannabis for veterans and I think it is even paid for; I hope and pray that the relaxing effect will be useful. PTSD does not go away and that is the sad thing for these people who have been traumatized. I have seen where anti depressants have made people over-excited; one was a super athlete; it made her extremely hyper and she took risks that she would not ordinarily have done, so there is an issue around metabolism... how will your body process this or that med... the person should be in hospital if a med is added, or a dosage changed; especially with soldiers... it is not enough for a doctor to say Call if there is a problem, because if someone is over-excited - say from an anti depressant - their behaviour may seem normal to them at the time.

MrTaser99 I am a US Marine who came back home from Vietnam and no one could understand what was wrong with me after being in combat. Plus I had PTSD and I did not know it, on a mill I worked they were always poping cups around because they thought it was funny to see me jump I wanted to the little brats, that is what they were, not grown men!!! I now go to a PTSD group for combat veterans and we have 1 guy in the group that is not a combat veteran which I tried to get kicked out but higher-ups did not agree we me so he stayed which is not right but what can I say shit happens!! sincerely Cpl USMC 1966 - 1970 Have a great day Bill
