My girlfriend likes to use bags like this to carry her laptop for work, but the thin straps dig into her shoulder. So I decided to make an attachable shoulder strap pad to help. I started by cutting the top piece of leather to size. Then I marked where thin strips will weave through the top piece to attach to the current straps. Next, I found a punch the right size for the strips and punched out four holes and then of course added my logo. Next, I cut the strips to size and then added snaps to each end. With the top piece done, I glued the top and bottom together. Then I used a punch to add a curve at each end. Next, I beveled the edges, scored a stitch line, punched the stitching holes and stitched the whole thing up. Finally, I did some quick edge burnishing. And just like that I had an attachable leather shoulder strap pad for my girlfriend! Let me know what you think in the comments and as always, thanks for watching!
