Tony. Your personality, wit, and no non-sense approach to life are your forte. I have watched everything you posted. And bought several patterns. Seriously, you deserve at least one million subscribers. But I think just leatherwork won't get you there. Please start another channel about you...the beauty of Romania, your daily errands, stories about your life at sea, etc. All your subscribers here will sub to that channel AND many more people around the world that are not leather people will love you like we do!

For number 3 non scented bar soap works great in place of jewelers past. I've been honing all of my blades with it since I was old enough to have a knife.

Using the wax when punching holes has changed the game!! You've mentioned this before and this came in handy when working on my bowler. Although, by the time I got this information I was already halfway through the "40" holes that needed to be punched. My hands killed for a few days after this project.

Yah, been doing all of these after seeing them bit by bit in your videos, Im just waiting on those edge dye marker pen thingys to arrive along with the edge dye, Covid19 lockdown in New Zealand included all non essential postal services, so had to wait 5 weeks before I could order stuff. Ps loved the number 4 hand set up.... lol

Thanks for all the work you put into shooting and editing this video. This is a really comprehensive list. Finding good and thorough how-to's on the YT has been surprisingly difficult. I look forward to scrolling through your back catalogue. I fell into a leathercraft shaped rabbit hole over the Holidays. I'm finally at the point where I have enough vintage tools from the ebay to work on projects. Right now I'm working on an overly complicated tool roll for my leather-carving tools. I figure the best way to perfect my techniques is to work on some tool rolls and sheaths. Thanks for the inspiration... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

Great trick - no duds. As a shoe maker, using lots of tiny nails: Wash nails with dish soap, spray with vinegar, allow to rust slightly. This makes the nails less slippery and pulls the leather more than brite nails.

Good tips. You. Can also age or change the color by leaving it out in the sun. It will “tan” just like human skin. Pretty cool. Tried it a couple times.

@PerfectWoodGrain

@Glen Spivey Except that you can make the blade much sharper than they are out of the box. That's the point, to make a common utility blade sharp enough for precision leather work.
