Hi Dr. Maggie D. I’m responding to my text that I sent to u a few weeks ago abt my test at Perl Mutter cancer Center here in NYNY. I was telling u I was hvn an FNA wen I last spoke to you etc etc n shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with cancer in my left axilla and left breast a few days later. 🤦🏾‍♀️Stage two or 3 according to my results. Dr wants to remove all lymph nodes in my left axilla but I will not allow that and neither am I hvn any of those toxic treatments NONE of them set well with me! I am opting thus far to treat my cancer holistically. Thx u again for your excellent! excellent! In-depth commentary on the lymph node. You TRULY ROCK!👍🏾

Greaaat commentary! I was scheduled for a FNA for the past month here in NYC at NYU Langone Pearl mutter cancer center under my left arm pit bc there’s some swelling there but my sonogram I think that’s what I had doesn’t show any suspicious findings but there is some discomfort there. So they want to do an FNA to rule out any chances of it being something more serious than could be seen on the mammo I had in January. But I keep chickening out!😱😱Thx u for all your in-depth knowledge., u were clear and concise.🙂

Stage3 (her2+) 8cm cancer in breast and some gone to lymph node ,after chemo has show no sign of cancer in PET scan. Now Dr, want to do Mastectomy and Axillary Lymph Node Clearance, then may be radiation. is it necessary? what's chance of cancer coming back if leave lymph nodes alone?

My surgeon took 2 sentinel nodes and 3 lymph nodes for DCIS. He didn’t wait for pathology for the first sentinel node, he just took them out. I asked about Lymphedema risk and was told “we don’t see that anymore”. Liar! Yes, I’ve had mild Lymphedema.

@@alyndaponder2832 I have been diagnosed with Melanoma, and they want to do a SLNB (sentinel lymph node biopsy). This was presented to me as absolutely important and necessary. I wasn’t given any information on: procedure/what to expect; potential side affects; other options; or the likelihood of my cancer ACTUALLY having reached my lymph nodes. The day before the scheduled surgery, my gut feeling was not to do it. I didn’t. As I did more research, I discovered that they could perform an ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration. In fact, this seems to be the standard procedure for at least the last 12 years. Additionally, the stage I’m presumably in (1) the percentage is extremely low that it has, in fact, gotten into my lymph nodes. I should also mention that my nodes are not swollen, nor is there any other symptoms of infected lymph nodes. My take on this is that an SLNB is quite unnecessary at this point. Not only was I lied to regarding the injectioned material (they kept saying blue dye blue dye blue dye) but when I called the day before scheduled surgery, I asked specifically what type of blue dye would be used (I wanted to know what they were putting into my body). That’s when I was told they would be injecting radioactive material. Um, excuse me?!?? I was not okay with this, NOR am I okay with being put under general anesthesia, which this surgeon did not seem to care about at all. In my gut, I kept thinking, leave my lymphatic system alone! I have a wonderful immune system!! I don’t feel confident about having any doctor messing around in there. I also discovered that a SLNB is a six figure cost in the US… whereas the ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration is only about $5k and doesn’t require a person be injected with any radioactive material, nor to be put under general anesthesia (which, in and of itself, carries inherent risks), and only takes about 10-15 minutes. So no thanks to these ‘medical professionals’, I suffered MORE from the stress regarding a procedure that I was NOT fully informed about, than the disease itself. The side affects of general anesthesia, radioactive material, and general hacking into a lymphatic system seems premature and unnecessary. No one discussed the possibility of lymphedema with me, nor any other potential side affects. So what’s the point? Let’s put you under, pump you with radioactive material, and hack into your lymphatic system, EVEN THOUGH, your lymph nodes are not swollen, nor do you have any symptoms of an infected lymph node, and the percentage of people with cancer in their lymph nodes is a low… oh whoops! We screwed up your lymphatic system, but congratulations you don’t have cancer in your lymph nodes… but now you will suffer with other issues because we hacked into your perfectly functioning immune system! I also had my eyes checked for ocular melanoma- it was negative- and guess what?? They didn’t pop my eyes out and cut into them to assess if the cancer was in my eyes! There are other methods with which to test if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, and doctors should be utilizing the least invasive procedures. Please always do your own research, ask questions of everyone involved, and be in touch with your own body and gut feelings. I believe I dodged a 6 figure bullet, and that doctor can kiss my *ss ! She didn’t get rich off of me, nor did the hospital she works for! I also don’t have the risk of lymphedema, which, thank you very much, I’d rather have the cancer.

Hopefully you will notice this comment for I really need some advices from medical experts like you .And it's very risky to travel or go outside due to the arising cases of covid in our place. So , I have this four swollen lymph nodes just last month and luckily last week of May, the physician told me that my lymph nodes were all gone ( I was taking four variety of meds that time) . And just today June24 at 11 pm , I've felt a swollen lymph nodes in my neck as I gently hold and press it with my fingers . I'm afraid and at the same time worried that my parents will pay for a huge amount of money for the second time .And also ,I have read from the internet that exercise will help . Is it true po ba ,Doc ? And if yes po , is there any limitations on its intensity? . Thank you so much in advance po .God bless you .

You can do a homeopathic search of herbs that will relieve the inflammation. For example...horsetail is good for inflammation and detoxifying the body. Tumeric is AMAZING at removing inflammation from the body. Most illness is from inflammation. Which is a natural bodily response to something wrong in our body. Sending you love and hope that something natural works for you.

Agreed, Chemotherapy has a 2.8 success rate... Radiation is just as bad if not worse... If you care about your health conventional medical treatments should be avoided. Listening to a medical doctor and following their advice will ultimately leave you dependant on the pharmaceutical industry drugs aka poisons which in turn will leave you chronically ill and shorten your life.

In some situations chemotherapy is an absolute miracle. Especially in HER2 targeted treatments, it can completely eradicate all tumor. Like everything in medicine, it is not 100% effective and certainly comes with serious side effects. In the end, it is solely the decision of the patient and there is no right or wrong decision if it's what the patient wants and they are thoroughly informed.

@@piratepete-thetruthisforevery1 Your opinion might be relevant if you had/have breast cancer. Until that that time you’ll never know what’s best (for yourself anyways). You certainly don’t know what’s best for a cancer patient on the internet you’ve never met. I think you’re just afraid and want to assure yourself that if you got cancer you could avoid surgeries, chemo and radiation. It’s true that it’s frightening, painful and fraught with loss. You want to believe your immune system is different, can be different, from that of cancer patients. Unfortunately you’re human like the rest of us. Be kind to yourself. Cheers from a cancer patient.

Radiation will probably kill them after lumpectomy. No treatment and 10 positive nodes? You mean treatment after surgery? No chemotherapy? I suspect the tumor has absolutely already metastasized and, depending on age and general overall health status, result in death.

Hiya, I’m 22, I graduated a year ago right now I just work. i know its unlikely I’m gonna get answers, but I’ve been getting swollen lymph nodes for a while and it always seems to be in the same place under my armpits they come and go in like episodes and as a perosn I’m usually very fatigued and out of breath but when I get them it’s like I get proper sick and the symptoms intensity and I look gross and sweaty. Like I said the come and go in liek few days and it’s always in one or the other armpit it usually changes. My bloods showed a low anemia (so I started taking ironsupplements again) but they also showed abnormal ESR rate. The doctor didn’t really say anything much about it refferences me for chest scan X-ray for my chest pains I was all clear. So does any health care proffesionsal know what underlying condition apart from the scariest and typical answer for google to give me .... can cause this? My chest pains are not as frequent any more however I do get pinching sensation in my underarms all I know is that one or twice atleast everymonth I get ill, feverish without actual fever just that I’m feeling flushed and hot all day, I’m extremely fatigued and then my lymph node in my armpit is flared and I have a painful bump, This has also been confirmed by the doctor the other reason to rule it out is like some feminists cause I don’t shave religiously under the arms. when this happens it stays for few more days then it goes away.... I’m still fatigued but the others go. What the hell is this? 🤣like I said it goes away and it can vary when I first got this it was the worst experince of them all I got really ill and had night sweats .... the most painful one. The second time it didn’t hurt and it didn’t stay that long then the times after that they varied I felt pain and some didn’t last long at all and went after 3 days.

G So , i Used a new deodorant as i decided to go all natural and I put some all natural deodorant that I got from Walmart now both armpits are in severe pain it took about three days but in those three days I also noticed that I wasn't sweating or I should say the smell of the sweat that you would normally wake up and say to yourself.....self...pee-you I need to take a shower👍 wasn't there and I thought that was pretty cool but I think what happened was the sweat glands were blocked somehow and now I have a infection because now the lymph nodes are swollen in both armpits, pain in both, and there's little red bumps that so far have been three days and 2 of the red bumps have had a white pus head that I popped/squeezed and then swabbed with 70% isopropyl alcohol. As a matter of fact I've taken a washcloth saturated in said alcohol and wiped both armpits several times for the last 2 days I'm hoping that it's just an infection and that the glands open back up but just wanted to keep some type of record and if anybody else has gone through this if they have any suggestions to please share them. I looked up symptoms of cancer and what not and I have no night sweats no abdominal pain no other painful areas in my body just the armpits and all within the last three days since I've used the new underarm deodorant. I also have some old Amoxicillin in the closet I was thinking about taking as well just in case this is a local infection of some sort....any advice?
