I was awake in the early hours , couldn't sleep , I ended up watching a Repair Shop rerun . A gentleman brought in his great grandfathers Lifeguards helmet 150 years old ! It had been kept in the loft for years and had suffered . The work they did to restore it was fascinating it shone as brightly as those we see today . How proud he was to have it returned to it's former glory in remembrance of his Trooper great grandfather . I know it's nothing to do with this video but I just had to mention the work these experts do .

My daughter grew up in France... and once when we were in England, there were French students being rude in french to English people while walking being them. My daughter and son had great pleasure telling them to stop it... Their faces were a picture... i think my daughter was a little rude back.. 😊😊 it was a great feeling... 😂😂

I can never understand why a large group of people would want to just stand by the Arch where One Soldier is Guarding. The young people are only there because the teacher or guide has brought them !! Are they actually interested, I wonder ?? Who knows ?! Tourists bring their money, but some bring an Unwanted Attitude, which can be ignored, but sometimes is unavoidable and spoils things for other Visitors. 🇬🇧💂☮️

WHY have they been told not to shout. We viewers need the guards to shout. No matter how young, they are old enough to know right from wrong.

I do not understand why the public are allowed to get so close to the soldiers and horses.

There was a time when you wouldn't go anywhere near a Royal Guard as a matter of respect (and because they were armed). Sadly, this country has become weak and this is why people take advantage!

When the teacher shouted at the kids, she said something along the lines of ' you should never say that'.

The larger the group the harder it is to control.

My Dad always visited horse guards when he was in London. He was also in the second truck through the gates of Belsen. I have the utmost regard for the guards and, of course, my Dad.

You'd think by now that some people would learn to behave properly and not with stupidty. There is no need for rudness or disrespect these bunxh need to do a ot of growing up. When you've been told to leave you rto do with armed police and guards THEY have final say.

The Kings guard are amazingly young man and women

I give the guard high regards for being gentle on the initial to help them understand not to be in that area. I don't understand why they are just hanging around like that. I think that the guards should be allowed to yell at people as sometimes that is the only way to get them to listen. John thanks for keeping the video's coming while Horse guards are away. I do agree with John regarding the guards' not being allowed to shout out at the disrespect they receive. It seems to take away from their authority as the King's soldiers. How can the tourist be told on the one hand that these magnificiant men and their awesome horses are true soldiers then all the soldiers can do is quietly mention to those breaking the rules to stop. Do you think it might just be for the holiday season? I love it when the British step up and make the disrespective tourists behave. I try my best; but no one seems to hear through the tv thousands of miles away in California.😸

Don't know about the French teacher, but I can say the attitudes and lack of respect in the USA is unbelievable. It seems that anyone who takes their job seriously are disrespected in this country. And the media and the politicians acting like kindergartners don't help. I keep looking to see some semblance of respect anywhere in the world nowadays. And I've watched enough of what these Guardsmen have to put up with from disrespectful people, both young and old, that it is less than reassuring. Is there any respect anymore? I watch the judges in these trial cases get abused and used and shown no respect. Anyway....................

Apparently there has been a 65% rise in bed bugs in France in 2023. So yes I should imagine some will have brought some with them.

Where were the chaperones that should have had more control over the group? I taught teens for 33 years and took them on many trips. The teachers and I would actively chaperone them and never lost a student or have one being disrespectful. I would always say at the end of the trip how proud I was of them.

Far too many people inside and outside, they should limit how many can visit and anyone time. glad the police got rid of the rude little sods. I did feel sorry for the teacher and she gave them a right ticking off and they just laughed at her. Thing is I always thought military bosses were good at planning and strategy, so why the heck can't they plan and use strategy to stop too many people arriving at once. Agree with groups and only booked but not so many at one time. the public should not be able to just gather and go in.

The guilty student is the one with the teacher at 20:14 - 20:15. When she advises the group they must leave, she turns and addresses the student particularly but I couldn't catch what was said because of the narration. Again, at 21:11 - 21:24, the gray haired lady is directly looking at and chastising that one student, not the whole group. The only thing I could clearly make out during a pause in the commentary was 'Jamais j'ai vu ça' (I've never seen such a thing).

looks like many many students on vacation from school visiting - agree with you John about the tour groups as they pay the tour companies handsomely to 'guide' them - large groups should pay a surcharge that would go to the Ministry of Defense to offset the extra effort of the guards to keep the property safe and respected -

I really didn't think much of the French as I planned my trip to France. I had heard they were rude and cold. So I studied a little French before I left. I never encountered any rude people in France. Just the opposite. It wasn't until the end of the trip did I realize they didn't think I was British or American. For some reason they assumed I was Spanish. So if you ever go to France learn some Spanish before you go.

When a large group say students and teacher there should be chaperones as well each broken up into groups to go see then at varying times show up for your time for a guided tour of the kings guard in horses

It's been my experience that large groups of young people of any nationality can become rude and a little unruly -- herd mentality. The French kids aren't any worse than Dutch or American kids when the group gets large enough. Canadians are nice and well mannered no matter the size of the group. Gotta love those Canooks!!❤❤❤

Why oh why should the guards not be able to shout at these total idiots, It is very unfair and to my mind shows complete lack of respect for their standing in their bosses eyes. We must stop running scared of upsetting the people who are upsetting the guards. I couldn't see us going to other countries and being able to insult and annoy their military as much as the other countries people upset ours. If I was a visitor from another country I wouldn't want to get my country a bad name for being outrightly rude and insulting another countries people be they soldiers or otherwise. These young men and women are our protectors and should be treated with the respect they deserve at all times. Bless them for putting up with so much but they shouldn't really have to

4:10 most of those kids were just good kids, but a few of them ( the ones that stayed the longest ) were quite disrespectful. Teens in a large group need definite careful watching - especially boys, if you ask me!

One more comment, John mentioned charging to visit. I was just thinking earlier they should charge for pictures with the horses and guards. Here there are farms which charge to take photos with their unique animals such as pygmy goats (so cute!) Taking pictures of the horses and guards would be free but to be in the picture, one would have to have a ticket. Of course that would mean extra positions for the guards to make sure the policy wasn't violated. Love John's comments as the French students get booted!

These crowds are ridiculous. When I was a teacher, we took groups and broke them into groups of 10 students with chaperones with each group. Then split up. This is out of hand. 😮😮😮😮

It could also be senior trip. That could explan why so many kids. Could also be Christmas break too. But for midterm, end of semesterthey would be in school for the test. Not in London

What also should be implemented is to put signs up about behaving respectful, quiet and do not come close to the guards and do not touch the horses., or at least the sigh "to not touch the reins" should be on both sides of the horseguards box. There should be also fines for some especially naughty stuff.

Another thing the big groups can do is just split up. If there was more than one teacher maybe they could have split the groups, like one group could go to Buckingham Palace and another at the horse guards and vice versa. Too many french and not enough space lol

I've been there when people get huffy and disrespectful..it really brings down the mood for those who want to have a good time.

So many tourists and so irritating, drives me nuts just looking at all of them.
