We've been hinting at some major life changes for quite some time now, and here it is. Feels pretty crazy we can now saw we're leaving our Lake District Cottage to live in a tent.
I'll be honest, this was a hard video to make. Lots of emotions! We've also had a lot of questions related to this recently (a lot about the cats!) so if anything wasn't covered in the film, just drop a comment below and we'll try to fill in the gaps.
Everything is so busy ahead of the big adventure, we've struggled to spend as much time making films. And so, even though we're not leaving just yet, we wanted to share and update so we could be open about everything that's going on behind the scenes.

Dear Josh & Sarah ☺. I've been watching since December having lost my husband Terry, as you know. Both of us past cyclists, although we never did any foreign travelling! I have just balled my eyes out 😢 watching this video, as you have been such good company with so many happy memories of our own adventures when we were young. Then at the end you said that we will be seeing more of you both for a little while longer. To both my children I have always said "Go out and see the world, for it is yours to explore". I was never encouraged to take that chance. We only get one life and no matter how far they travel or for however long they will be gone - and they will be missed - they will always be welcomed home. You have to journey to somewhere else, before you really know that you want to come back. Safe travels 🙏🏽

I've saved this vlog for after our Easter weekend in your neck of the woods. Ironic, as a cyclist, I found them as you settled into the cottage, in an area I adore. At the other end of our working lives we are working towards travelling in our van we converted, carrying our 4 bikes (loved the bit about staying put=2 bikes each lol) and mini adventures wherever we go but with the known security and warmth of the van. We can't keep up bike packing for more than a week or two tops! We park the van for a few days and return to it each night but generally do not drive the van. I don't drive anyway so I'm used to utility cycling in any weather and to be honest wild weather makes me glow more than fine weather. Such a raw experience if you can warm, up afterwards. I cannot wait to come round the world with you. Your warmth, wisdom, fun, silliness enquiring minds and photographic/cinematic skills are all top class and I'll be along for the ride.

We will miss them so much. It took time but they have adapted well to indoor life from being wild babies. We will have a semi planned route, but we like to stay flexible and we will of course makes videos along the way. Glad you'll stuck around for the future adventures 🚲

I (sarah) will be leaving my job and we will both work on the videos full time. We'll also maybe pick up odd jobs along the way. The dream is to both work on the videos full time as we so daym passionate about film making and story telling 😁

You kids …. 😂 good luck and having to settle down myself I can see why you prefer to move onwards even though a huge argument for staying put. Having had to stop cycling myself due to massive surgery which doesn’t allow me to sit on a bike, I know what it’s like to want to get out there. I have cycled around Provence which was brilliant (on a Kona MTB with panniers) I have done the Alps on that bike and also walked GR5 from Samoens to Mt Blanc plus much more in the Alps and Brittany. I would suggest you ensure you have some real health insurance, especially knowing you have had recent surgery. My surgeon won’t even let me look at bike mags now 😂 the coast to coast ride from up there is a good trek to do before you go, by the way

Wow- living the dream. Love your story and a beautiful movie also. Life and the universe has presented you with a dilemma for sure- the cottage with local amazing adventure on your actual doorstep versus a nomadic adventure around the world. Doing two weeks of cycling in June, from Manchester to Paris. The plan is still to properly set off at the end of next year. Depends on whether my health insurance company decides to slug me for more money one of the ops I had done last year. lol

I think you’re very brave to leave what seems an idyllic spot that you so obviously love, but I can understand your reasoning that you never want to look back and think, ‘what if’? Wow, that was pretty emotional. Sad to see you leave The Lakes , especially as we live really quite close to that area but also happy for you both to go on a great adventure. Do it whilst you are young and healthy. Don’t be tied down to this rat race 🫤things may change later when you’ve done some travelling and may decide to get that dog or have kids or both, in meantime enjoy !! By the way beautiful images ( especially cottage in the snow and with the stars above ) also adorable cats , please let us know how they get on when I watch your new films . Hello you two, I’ve just stumbled upon your channel and watched this latest film. I’m struck by how beautifully you craft your videos, and the warmth of the connection you make thru the lens, but most of all - how lovely the energy is between the two of you. What a blessing to find someone to share your adventurous path, values and outlook together. Such a wrench to leave the cottage you have made so homely. And the journey of discovering small adventures and happiness from your doorstep. But you’re right - we all gather moss the longer we stay in one place, and you’ve time still in your lives to be rolling stones yet. Wishing all good things to you both in this next stage of your adventure x

You just filmed and presented a “rock and a hard place”. I do and don’t envy you two. I do because you reside in what seems like a piece of heaven. I don’t because of your dilema and plans or planning snd departure from that slice of community and outdoor pleasure. I get the desire to explore but to leave that mecca, whoa, not easy!
