That Guitar looks gorgeous! I'm not gigging, so I got rid of all my amps, cabs and pedals last year, replaced them with a Hotone Ampero II Stomp and a pair of studio monitors which are also connected to the TV. It's like the perfect living room setup. If I ever gig again I will propably do something similar to you, depending on the in house PA it would be great to just plug the Stomp in and be all good, but you obviously can't expect that from every venue.
A lot of small to medium size venues around me require a silent stage, but for those that don't my Powercab Plus 212 works amazingly. Accepts all of the IR's I could want, does really decent speaker sims and has more than enough power to fill anything short of an arena for front row sound off of the stage.
I'm also thinking of ditching the Headrush with my Helix floor and getting the pedalbaby with a 2x12. Thanks for the video! I just tried the Powercab 112 and was less than impressed. I watched all the videos, knew about proper gain staging, but the Headrush is far superior in loudness. I am going to give it a few more tests before sending it back, but the Pedalbaby seems like the best compromise for me for getting that "amp in room" feel.
I am heading down the same route as you once my HX Stomp comes back from the pedal doctors I am using the Amped 1 with a couple of pedals and a Boss ES5 for midi and loops etc. When the HX stomp returns it will provide amp and wet effects replacing my Plethora x3 then will have a couple of analogue drives just in case. Great video sir, enjoying the channel!
I have 4 different solutions for different stages, I use the helix floor and either iems, active speaker for monitor, small tube amp and big tube amp . Adjusting different patches accordingly
Really awesome video dude! This exactly the way that I want to go with my live rig! Would be awesome if you maybe could share some live clips of the rig in action. I Would be very curious to see that
I was using my Kemper rack for years. But I now went back to tube amps. I bought a Mesa Triple Crown 100 head and my Mesa boogie 4X12 bottom cab. Yes it heavy but the best tone I've had in years. Yes it big and heavy but I don't care anymore.
Jake Leigh Guitar question if you see this its my under standing the hx stomp doesnt have a power supply but the hx stomp xl does so i was wondering doesnt that mean i could use the stomp xl with my favorite 2x12 cab not frfr just a cab im just a bedroom muscian but ive never had a modeling amp but i thought i heard if you have a power supply you can use a regular cab with the stomp xl and have the ir off and use the amps and effects is that how this works please let me know
Hey 😊 when I’m running into the Pedal Baby I have cab sims turned off (but I leave power amp sim on). If I’m running direct only I’ll have them turned on. If I’m using the Pedal Baby and going direct I’ll turn cab sims off, but place a TC Electronic Impulse pedal between the stomp and front of house. Hope that helps!
@@JakeLeighGuitar thanks sir. I am using the Harley Benton PA but think I will go back to the Amped 1 as HB seems to struggle live. I am using tonex into hx stomp loop with cab sims and I have a harley benton cab with a Celestion F12m speaker which is ok but think it needs a different enclosure!
