as someone who grew up with Letterman, the sign of Late Show with David Letterman is part of the new york landscape.

The last Letterman show was perfect...couldn't have been any better.

Love you Dave. I was a 13 yr old Filipino who religiously watched your show everynight absorbing all the Western Pop culture, politics and most of all, humor (specially satire). And you shaped me and my mind to who I'am now. Thank you Dave.

That final montage against the Foo Fighters was relentless. And live. And perfect. Finding out it was Barbara behind it makes perfect sense. I loved when she and Dave yelled at each other through the back wall of the set. Frustrated desperation.

You're all lovely people, as much as Mr. Lettereman is. The long association says it all. Good luck.

I was a Carson fanatic and when Dave came along, I was thrilled. In my opinion his show left Carson's in the dust. Dave was just the best. All subsequent talk shows are unwatchable. He was kinda the Beatles of late-night.

Dave I Loved your show I watched it for over 20 years. It was very sad for me to see it end.

Its the greatest amount of relatable comedy ever produced.

Not only was the last letterman show perfect, I’d say every show after the retirement announcement was. It was a level of television that no longer exists. An end of an era.

Letterman is worth some 400 million bucks , you'd think he'd at least cut each of his people a 100,000 dollar severance check , maybe he did

This particular last days video was a bit much and typical. I loved Letterman and all the staff and band.

At least all these people didn't have to experience the absolute hell of working on the Ellen or Oprah show. Working for Divas who, for example, don't even want you to actually make eye contact with them must have been horrible and degrading. But, Dave liked the female staffers and interns so who do you trust??

Dave was that self punishing humorist I believe everyone can relate to. He brought laughter to situations that were inherently not funny. Screwing up drive through orders as an example. In my mind, only 2 men have made late night what it was. Carson and Letterman. The rest simply rode on their coat tails. Colbert, the cheap political hack is a PRIME example. Colbert epitomizes the state of late-night television: not funny, low-rated, non creative and partisan. Colbert and his ilk ruined satire.Thank you Dave for your enduring excellence in the art of late night tv.
