I spent a standard school year at Mt Allison in 1980 at age 20. I spent my first 50 years in the GTA. Now I live in small town Sechelt BC. I went back to Thornhill twice, to see if i wanted to return home and each time it was a hard no. I have been in BC for 14 years and even though Thornhill is my home, and the nostalgia pulls at my heart sometimes, I love where I live now.

First thing someone from Ontario needs to do before moving here is dropping the ontario mindstate and lifestyle. Maritime living is a totally different beast.

Agreed the area I grew up in is no longer a charming place. NB has that small town atmosphere that disappeared in Ontario years if not decades ago.

I grew up in NB during the 1970s and 1980s. All I ever heard from Ontario was arrogant, ignorant stereotyping and insults. According to them, we were the “have-not province.” Now look what’s happening…the SOBs are moving to NB in droves, yapping about how beautiful it is.
@Randalmandle
@Randalmandle 14 дней назад
@@Bob-lz4bz I always thought it was beautiful and spent a number of partial summers there. Didn’t have the means to move there until about now. Don’t prejudge, some people will think you are from Ontario.

Good choices, we grew up in a rural area close to KingCity and after much thought and research bought a house close to Miramichi NB a couple of years ago. We are making the permanent move this summer 2024. Thanks for reinforcing what we think about the move.

After 8 years I’ve never had a problem with health care. Emergency wait time are less than an hour unless there is a really big accident or unforeseen dilemma. Last t8me I went to emerge room in Ontario I walked out after 20 hours.
@JennyCelly
@JennyCelly 9 дней назад
Hi Tarun, unfortunately, like many other provinces in Canada, there is a shortage of physicians in New Brunswick to serve the patient population. We do have walk in clinics and hospitals and for those seeking a family physician, they can contact Patient Connect NB online or by phoning Tele-Care 811 to be placed on a waiting list. I always advise people moving here that may have ongoing health issues, to first try to connect with a doctor in NB before moving or to get a doctor referral from the province that they are moving from. Some of my clients have gotten a family doctor within the first 6 months of living here, while others are still waiting after 3 years.

its fabulous for realtor’s
@JennyCelly
@JennyCelly 9 дней назад
Yes! Being a Realtor is definitely a fabulous and rewarding job because of all the wonderful people you meet along the way and the families we get the honour of helping. But as a Realtor, you definitely have to love your job because it’s not easy working 80+ hours a week including weekends and evenings and many times with guilt of missed family time. Our average home price is about $350k. So in NB, we have to sell about 3-4 homes to make the equivalent of what one home sells for, in bigger cities like Toronto. It’s fabulous to be a realtor in NB, but it also comes with a LOT of work and sacrifice and I could not be more grateful for my clients and people that have supported me on this path 😊🙏

Thank you ! Good story for my family. Because we want to move from our country to Canada. And New Brunswick looks much better than Ontario for us. Can you compare this province with Alberta? And also are there good job opportunities for newcomers?
@JennyCelly
@JennyCelly 3 месяца назад
Hi Andre, I have never been to Alberta so I can't compare it, but New Brunswick definitely has a slower pace of life than bigger provinces. Our taxes are 15%, so much higher than Alberta. There are opportunities here for newcomers, but before making a decision, check out places like - carreerbeacon.com, NBjobs.ca or Indeed.com to see if there are job opportunities in your field. Best of luck with your move! 🙂

We have lived in Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick. Alberta has better job opportunities, less taxes, higher living expenses. We were by Jasper and loved Alberta. Totally different nature aspects but beautiful! Job wages are substantially lower in New Brunswick but property sizes are bigger for less. We prefer New Brunswick for that reason but do love Alberta ❤
