In this video I spent my last days at my snow camp in the Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. This was my best camp experience ever! I head towards Show Low, Arizona to shower and resupply. I ended up meeting a subscriber Brad who is from Show Low. thanks for hanging out Brad!! Then I head towards Glob, Arizona on Hwy 60 through Salt River Canyon which is an epic drive. I find a camp at Jones Water Campground, a free camp in the Tonto National Forest. I grill up some chicken on the camp grill and spend the night video editing.
Thank you for being here.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

I was camping by myself for several days in a camp site near Mount Langley’s trail head to acclimate to altitude. It was tranquil. I didn’t do much except cooking, reading, and sleeping. I still remember that experience.

Brian you seem to really make great choices that lead to your “ life experiences” . I love that you recognize the truly wonderful ones and share the joy of them with us . I can say I know when a special event or location just hits that magic spot. It can be as simple as a walk in the backyard but when it’s great it’s great. Solitude certainly helps. Thanks for your work you put in.

Our western states have much to appreciate from the snow topped Rocky Mountains, colorful canyon lands, tall grasses and beautiful prairie land flowers, crystal clear mountain lakes, streams and rivers, old time mining areas and ghost towns, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my twenty years of living out yonder as I’d imagine you are as well. I live half a block from a hospital helipad. You get used to it after 20 years, lol. When I first moved here it drove me nuts. I guess it still does sometimes but I think about all the sick and hurt people they are saving. I cherish the moments I can leave in my van to go camping and all I hear is the wind blow, crickets, and frogs. That is actually more my style.

From one gorgeous place to another, you really find lovely spots Brian. Good idea to help that guy. Some folks are pretty skilled at sizing up danger and some are scammer magnets. If he'd felt at all creepy, you could have offered to suggest he stay with his car and you would make a call for him as soon as you had a signal. Still helpful, but safer. The fact that your choice to give him a ride shows that your judgement skills are finely tuned. Good to see you carving. Very nice.

I have both a 12V and 110V heating blanket. The downside to the 12V blanket is that it is only 50"x60", while the 110V is a twin size. Neither one uses much electricity. Might be a good backup for when you find yourself in another situation like in this video. The 110V uses 144W when it is "on". (About $30 at Walmart) It isn't on all the time. There is a thermostat from 1 to 10. I keep it on 4 overnight and it keeps me toasty warm without using too much power as it cycles on and off. 5 and above will make you sweat even in below freezing temps.

Your last video was quite the cliffhanger - I was waiting on bated breath to see how things ended up for you at Snow Camp, lol! Perhaps it was such a life-changing experience because of the solitude and self-reliance you experienced. It's always magical, hushed and serene after a snowfall, but to be alone in the middle of the woods, expertly taking care of yourself and using all your acquired survival skills, has got to be the most amazing feeling. I love that after your time alone, you were gifted with a disc golf buddy for the day! Your drone footage was spectacular - I really want to drive that stretch of road now! Thanks always for sharing.

Hey, enjoy that one great drone shots too. Take care and see you soon. Interesting fact on Show Low legend on how the town got its name. According to a legend, the city's unusual name[5] resulted from a marathon poker game between Corydon E. Cooley and Marion Clark. The two men were equal partners in a 100,000-acre (400 km2) ranch; however, the partners determined that there was not enough room for both of them in their settlement, and agreed to settle the issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving). After the game seemed to have no winner in sight, Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." In response, Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs (the lowest possible card) and replied, "Show low it is.".[6] As a tribute to the legend, Show Low's main street is named "Deuce of Clubs" in remembrance.[5]
