Lebanon after the explosion in Beirut | DW Documentary

The explosions in Beirut's port turned property agent and party king Johnny Assaf into an activist. He's coordinating the protests against Lebanon's politicians, accusing them of leaving the people to pick up the pieces.
They have no recourse but their own initiative. Volunteers are coming to Beirut from all across Lebanon, bringing food, helping to clean up and caring for the wounded. Especially hard hit are the quarter of a million Syrian refugees living in Beirut, most of them in the port's immediate vicinity. Now, many of them have lost what little they had. Discontent had already been smoldering in Lebanon for months. Critics blame the country's rigidified and corrupt political system for the ongoing economic crisis. They say the explosions in the port were only the last gasp of an epic and wide-ranging failure of the state. Will the Lebanese give themselves over to resignation or allow their fury to ignite a revolt? A Report by Theresa Breuer and Vanessa Schlesier.

I am sure that Lebanon - Beirut was murdered by a gas-, liquid- or hydrogen-bomb from EuroNews & Co. (Brussels, Berlin, USA, Israel, etc.). It is clearly seenable, that there has been 4 etapes / steps: 1. Fire / Flames 2. Flashes by chemical or electricity 3. A first weaker red brown explosion 4. A second stronger explosion closely after with grey white steam and shockwave and mushroom form (clearly this second blast was a prepared >placed< >gas-, liquid- or hydrogen-bombwater-steamplaced< fire with a >placed< chemical reaction-explosion to that fire. The second bigger explosion looks obviously as a >placed< >gas-, liquid- or hydrogen-bombprepared< by EuroNews & Co (Brussels, Berlin, USA, Israel, etc.) and their politcians (Macron, etc.). It is just obviously. I am sure all of these destroyments and the mass-murder / genozid has been done by EuroNews & Co. Keywords: EuroNews, America, USA, England, Great-Britain (GB), United Kingdom (UK), United Nations (UN), NATO, WHO, "Corona Virus", Europe (EU), France - Paris, Belgium - Brussels, Germany -Berlin, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, Palestina, Israel, Telaviv, Vatican, The Pope, etc.

@Angel, we don't want money, we want help. We have been hostages to iranian militias for a while and now they are killing the hostages. We have no power they shoot at faces of protesters who are protesting over the rubble of their homes. We want the nations of the world to help us but politics is not compassionate. The only real help you can do is to get the message out, and demand that your nations do something.

The international financial aid should NOT go to the corrupt government officials. They will pocket the money and do nothing to help Lebanese citizens. The money should be given directly to those who are helping their neighbors by repairing their homes and distributing food. Sadly public life in Lebanon has been deteriorating for many years - even before the civil war. All the current government does is suck the country dry. Thank goodness for the well meaning citizens who have come to the aid of their neighbors. So far the government's response is to send out the police and the military - not to aid the wounded, fix homes or hospitals.

Its funny how I always had a feeling that the US had a hand in all this and then when I stopped the video to take a closer look at what happened to that elderly man, I see that he has an American flag on his shirt and the letters USA.. it is shown just as the voice over saids; Will they channel their fury into protests. It looks a lot like the same tactics that are being used in the states at the moment. What's going on here !?

@@nicolaichristensen4207 I take your comment not as taunting criticism of dismissal, but an acknowledgement that the US government fails to represent its citizens in a meaningful way - it seems to serve a small population of elite who consider their citizens as pawns and indentured servants. Pray? To what, for what? If you are waiting for a god to fix your problems then you are going to be waiting a long time. In all these years god has never stepped in to help Lebanon, so what makes you think this so called god is going to do so now? Praying is a waste of your time, Lebanon needs action not prayers. It's not a god that will bring peace to Lebanon, it's the people who have to do that. It is religion and their gods that create wars, not end them.

Baha. How are you suffering. I guarentee that you know NOTHING about real suffering. My guess is that you are a democrat. You vote for people that tell you they're going to raise your taxes and yet you're pissed when they do it.

I repeat: I am sure that Libanon / Lebanon - Beirut was murdered by a liquid- or hydrogen-bomb from EuroNews & Co. (Brussels, Berlin, USA, Israel, etc.). It is clearly seenable, that there has been 4 etapes / steps: 1. Fire / Flames 2. Flashes by chemical or electricity 3. A first weaker red brown explosion 4. A second stronger explosion closely after with grey white steam and shockwave and mushroom form (clearly this second blast was a prepared >placed< >liquid- or hydrogen-bomb

So sad to see a country I love so much suffering in this way. I went to Lebanon (Beirut) several times due to my work and I felt myself at home. It is a shame to see this country in ruins because of corruption, inefficiency and lack of a clear and long term political view.

Other than the robotic voiceover, this is a very well produced piece. Superb visual editing and documenting the story through the use of a main character.

This is so heart breaking to watch. You'd expect people in position to help (even as a PR stunt) victims of the blast in Beirut. But no, they send military to "stabilize" the situation?

Hezbollah has controlled the Port of Beruit for many years. Most likely they will rebuild the Port (and steal even more influence over the government). Hezbollah and the rest of the thugs need to be ousted from Lebanon.
