*THE END.* ✈️ *Lebanon - You really played with my heart this time.* I will never forget this trip. To be honest, it was very emotionally draining witnessing the current state of the country and the desperation of the local Lebanese people and the refugees who have fled from war in nearby countries. These people are facing unimaginable hardships every single day. *On the positive side, through this video series we managed to raise over $100,000 US dollars* for people in extreme need of essential resources like food and shelter in Lebanon. I owe a huge thank you to you, my incredible audience, for making this possible and giving those that are less fortunate a glimmer of light in the darkness. Watching this breaks my heart even more. First and most importantly, thank you so soo much for your generosity and for bringing awareness to what’s happening here. It’s been a couple of months since the Lebanon series ended and unfortunately it keeps on getting worse and worse. Barely any of us (graduates) are finding jobs, the usd to lbp exchange rate is getting real bad, crimes are happening everywhere, the suicide rate is skyrocketing and most of the people here just want a way out. It’s just devastating how there is no hope left here anymore. My beautiful country is on the verge of collapsing, and our selfish government doesn’t care at all. It’s just so sad and the fact that we can’t leave even if we wanted to due to the new laws implemented by the banks makes me lose faith. I will always pray for better days, and for a new free Lebanon, but at this point, I’ll grab any opportunity that will allow me to leave. May God protect Lebanon from all evil 🤍

Instead the public should demand accountability from those in power to create a better system. It's lebanese government fault why their people are suffering now.

when I was a kid (14) we went to Romania while Nicolae Ceaușescu was leader the black market was mad. In some areas they had Dollar shops selling western item but you needed a passport and £ or $ I gave away most of my clothes when returning home jeans and tshirts were out of the locals reach.

The black market rate is 4 times the official exchange rate? Holy moly. Here in Argentina its slightly below 2 times (90 vs 160) and it's already causing huge issues in our economy. I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel for Lebanon :(

Great series. I’ve done a number of deployments to Lebanon with UNIFIL (Irish battalion) in the south. I’ll never forget Lebanon and the Lebanese people.. Every one of us who served left a little piece of our hearts there. I was first there in 1988 when the fighting was bitter, but the people never lost their humanity and nothing changed in subsequent deployments.. Love from Ireland ❤️
