the argument for having it lock in gear is it mimics the geartrain being loaded preventing the gear from disengaging, i believe he mentions at one point you can preload the shifter and not have it kick out of gear until your ready to shift, probably a decent mod would be changing it from a dead lock to a heavy detent on the gear ends of the track barrel to get a similar effect without having it completely lock into gear, and leaving it as is in the center for the locked in neutral effect

Hey, unfortunately I don't think I could give it out as it's a modified version of the AMSTUDIO one (which is actually designed for the Logitech shifter), which I paid for. But to be honest, it's not great - it slips on the shifter shift and I've been trying to come up with a better idea. Lebois Racing is releasing the V10 shifter within the next couple of months so I'm going to see if I can come up with a better design for that, or possibly just buy one of the USB truck shifters you can get on Ali Express

good point. appreciate the info. i was debating doing the amstudio one but maybe ill just wait for the v10 with you. ill think of ideas in the meantime of what could work best

@@TurboB1R Sounds good, the best I've come up with so far would be a design that sits like a shroud over the nut which holds the shifter knob in place, but it would be really awkward to design and is definitely filed away in the 'too hard basket' for me haha. I think finding a way to directly embed an M10 nut into the design is the best way to do it, but then you run into alignment issues with the engraving on the knob

@@spaceyamgaming Good point. Yeah i'm in Mechanical Engineering rn at school but havent had a class yet. Just the little bit of Fusion I know. I need to practice more. Wish I had a lathe so i can make some threads on the shaft lol

@@TurboB1R That's awesome! I'm just a clumsy DIYer, but I do actually enjoy designing stuff in Fusion. My brother loaned me a 3d printer which I've had way more use out of than I ever expected to get. A lathe would certainly be useful! I don't have the room unfortunately

Hey man I know there is a way to get one built for you, I'm just trying to find the site now

Looks like NSH Simgear (French) sell them completed, but going by the cost it would be a better investment to buy yourself a 3D printer and DIY it. They charge EU799, whereas for me total cost of printer filament and parts (including bulk packs of screws) was no more than about $400 AUD. If you were to order screws in only the needed quantities it would probably take about $80-$100 off that price. nsh-racing.com/produit/boite-de-vitesse-simgear/

Hi mate! Serious question about the build, do you think a beginner can pull this off? Im considering to build it but Im not confident in my ability it seems complicated. How many hours did you put in to it?
@spaceyamgaming
@spaceyamgaming 5 месяцев назад
Hey, good question! Honestly, the 3d-prints themselves should be ok as long as you follow the instructions. The step-by-step videos pretty much tell you everything you need to know. The most important thing I would suggest is search for SRT 9.1 Shifter assembly videos (it should be a playlist on RU-vid) and watch through them to see what needs to be done. In all honesty, it's probably several hours of work all up after everything is printed. Definitely not something you want to do in a single sitting. I think I spent three days putting it all together and making sure everything was correct, although I also installed the button plate add-on and e-Clutch in the process and they both added a bit of time. Terminating the wires with the cheap Dupont connector kit was quite frustrating as well, I'm not sure if better quality connectors and crimping tool would have made the job easier or not

My srt9.1 have clutch mod . I want to add a clutch lock switch. Where can I find that part of the code?
@spaceyamgaming
@spaceyamgaming 10 месяцев назад
So, it's part of the 'button plate' mod. All the definitions in my copy of the code start at line 56. Make sure you remove the // from the line saying "#define BUTTONPLATE" and then whichever of the buttons you want to use as your eClutch switch, set its number to 13. All the number codes are listed on the Lebois website on the page for the button plate mod
