I don't think he started playing point until his last year at Davidson. Then, at the beginning of his NBA career, he was playing the 2 spot with Monte Ellis @ PG. That's why I was hoping the Warriors could land a Marcus Smart or even Dru Holiday. With a defensive-minded, assist-generating PG, Steph could flourish in the shooting guard role.

I don't think you're taking one thing into account about Chris Paul on the Warriors. Yes, he tends to get injured by the time the playoffs roll around... but as everyone knows, he's NEVER come off the bench. His minutes have always been much greater than they are going to be this year. I think he might surprise everyone and be healthy and relatively rested for the postseason. And then, it's not just a regular-season thing. They'll be poised for a run.

CP3 already knows his role on this team and has accepted it. From preseason to now the Warriors 2nd team is leaps and bounds better than last year because while Klay Steph rest CP3 can lead so that Curry isn't wore out in the post-season. But we'll see because right now everything seems to be clicking except lowering the turnovers. If they lower their turnovers they'll be extremely hard to beat
The reason why nobody respects the bubble championship for LA is because the Lakers did nothing before the bubble & have done nothing since. The Warriors won in 2022 (after the bubble) and won 3 times before the bubble (2015, 2017 & 2018). The Warriors didnt qualify for the bubble as Steph broke his hand and missed most of the season before the league shut down.
