I'm just a couple years older than LeBron, and in high school, I remember feeling frustrated with how boxed in I felt at any position. If you're a forward, get down low in the key, post up. If you're small forward or shooting guard, get out on the wing and try to get it into the post player. It felt like a lot of my talents, or anyone's talents, would go to waste like that, and other teams that just played "playground ball" against us would wipe the floor with us. We were early millennials who were ready to play a new way, and our coaches were boomers who came up before the 3 point line was invented, and back in a time when height and weight were supposed to matter more than athleticism and sheer talent. Basketball is always changing.

Its crazy what a individual sport basketball is. You can literally have 4 average players on a team, with one big time recruit and be in contention for state titles. This goes for every level of basketball.
