If you use Skip’s logic that “LeBron leaves a lot of points on the table” by being a below average free throw shooter, then isn’t it more impressive that he still averages the same amount of points as KD???

If that's skip's reason for KD joining GS then he knows KD chose the easiest route to face Lebron. If Kevin Durant wanted Lebron then he could have stayed with the Thunder because they were almost there having a 3-1 lead in the WCF, or join a different team where he was the main man and lead them to face against Lebron. Instead he chose the easy way out and joined the GSW. All choices either staying with OKC, going to a different team or going to GS gives KD a chance to face Lebron. But again instead he chose the easiest way.

All Shannon has to do is say Lebron is averaging what KD does in a "career year" while being 4 years older than him and then bring up how Lebron played in 2018 (when he was same age as KD is currently). Take Lebron's 2018 playoff run and compare it to KD's postseason this year. No comparison skip.

LeBron is clearly the greater player all-time but heading into next season, it is KD. They both seem to be getting injured a lot more frequently in the past 2 years. So availability really isn’t a deciding factor among the 2 but LeBron really relies on his team more in his current form compared to KD. As badly as their playoffs were, they actually made it while LeBron and his team missed the playoffs. The Nets with KD this year were 36-19. They were 8-19 without him. The Lakers with LeBron were 25-31 and they were 8-18. I mean their team’s records without them are pretty much identical but looks like with KD playing, the Nets actually are succeeding while that is not the case for Bron. I mean when you go by their average, if Kd played the whole year, the Nets have a 54 win season. The Lakers are on 37 wins if LeBron plays the whole season with both of them on equally desperate teams according to the identical record without their superstar player. That is a huge difference. And KD also did a lot of things for the Nets last year. After Harden left he became their primary playmaker and he was a very valuable rebounder as well. Over 7 rebounds and 6 assists which is pretty damn good. And KD did average more assists than Bron this year too. And the shooting stuff is nonsense by Shannon. Shooting efficiently is a huge part of the game today. KD putting up 52/38/91 splits is incredible. LeBron did shoot better from the field but the difference between the 2 was less than 1%. And LeBron shot less than 36% from 3 which isn’t horrible but it ain’t pretty either. And the free-throws are on different planets with LeBron being on 76% to KD’s 91%. All-time wise, LeBron is miles ahead of Durant but when we talk about right now after last season and going into the next season, KD is the better player without question. He is the more efficient scorer. He has been playmaking to a level that is near LeBron last season. LeBron is the better rebounder but the gap isn’t as big as it was before. KD can play off the ball in instances whereas LeBron off the ball is not that effective. LeBron can play more physical defense but KD right now is the better defender. The blocks and steals stats might favor LeBron by a little but KD is clearly the better 1 on 1 defender for a complete game whereas LeBron shows flashes of defensive greatness but not for long instances. The free-throw shooting for Kd has been incredibly effective whereas with LeBron, it has made him struggle here and there.

What I hate the most about Skip constantly bringing up the KD years at golden state is that he acts like KD was bailing out curry during that time, okay in 2017 he averaged 35 ppg which is great! I mean weirdly enough despite Lebron being quite the elder statesmen compared to KD, I don’t really trust either to have a consistent and long playing time regular season. They’re both gonna end up tweaking something and miss a couple weeks of games but otherwise when heathy, they’re the best player on the court respectively. It’s hard for me to say one’s going to have a clear better season on an individual level (team success is a whole other issue)
