As a Spurs fan, I respectfully disagree. The Spurs are the youngest team in the league and this last year they spent most of the season learning how to play with Wemby. Adding Bron would take up a good bit of salary as well as most likely trading away picks we need to build around Wemby. Having Lebron on wouldn't fit as he would be the oldest player on the team by FAR so he wouldn't spend more than a season or two with the Spurs. So you would take him for lots of cap space and trade assets only to then have to juggle managing him and Wemby, personally I don't see much value outside of Bron giving advice to Wemby. The Spurs should keep the focus soley on Wemby, drafting and trading solid role players and promising young talent around this team to grow organically instead of banking our future on trading for one aging star.

The Spurs front office is way too smart to do something so foolish. Spurs will not wreck their future just to have Lebron for 1 year. They will get a Trae Young or Donovan Mitchell level star and build through the draft. They might even avoid big trades all together and build strictly through the draft and limit trades to role players.

As a Spurs fan I would definitely take LeBron. Pop will only need from Lebron 17pts 6 rebounds and 6 assist and let Wemby be the primary scorer and just be that experience leader in the locker room.

LBJ is one of the NBA GOATs: in terms of skill, success and knowledge. He's great. But I cannot think of situations where he actually improved the play of any of his teammates other than stop-up shooters. He certainly hasn't helped a young player develop into a star. Bron only knows how to play the game with the ball in his hands, he's not an off-ball contributor, or a hustle guy, or a strong defender. Let's not get into how he always seems to try to act like a GM on teams and inevitably f-s them up. He does not fit into Spurs team-first culture and I have seen no evidence that he will ever not make every situation about himself first and foremost. There are things that Vic can learn from Bron, but not as a teammate.

Wemby learning how to do this for 20 years at an mvp level from LeBron shouldn’t be underestimated. Longevity alone would be worth the price.plus San Antonio being a small market team would greatly benefit from LeBron James coming to town. I believe there was a study done on the economic impact that he has when he comes to a team and it’s in the billions. Small market should ever turn down such an opportunity to gain viewership. Grow its fan base and increase its visibility. Lastly, I’ll say that drafting his son would greatly benefit both LeBron Son and the Spurs. You're completely incorrect! LeBron doesn't like being coach. This is the same LeBron who threw Mike Brown under the bus in Cleveland. The same Mike Brown who led the Cavs to the NBA Finals, 2 Conference Finals, and 2 Conference Semifinals along with two 60 win seasons. The same Mike Brown who led the Kings to their first playoff appearance since 2006 and he's a 2x NBA Coach of the Year, but LeBron has never had a good coach. In Miami, LeBron tried to get Erik Spoelstra fired, until Pat Riley put the kibosh on that one. After the LeBron/Wade/Bosh Era, this is the same Spoelstra who led Miami to another 2 NBA Finals appearances and 7 playoff berths. People bring up Jordan having a hall of fame coach in Phil Jackson, but conveniently leave out, that prior to Phil Jackson being appointed the head coach of the Bulls in 1989, he had no previous NBA Head Coaching experience. Which means Jordan met Phil Jackson as a NBA rookie head coach, not an established head coach.

Jeremy sochan has been running point foward to prepare the spurs to LeBron's style of play. We literally would just have to move Sochan to the bench and move Bron to the Point. We could trade some of our picks for great shooters and a decent pg. Wemby would make up any lapse of defense on Brons end, but Bron would be able to sole focus on playmaking and scoring. Mean wemby would average 30 12 6 with Bron having 25 10 8. The offensive would be deadly with Bron Force feeding Wemby. It depends on what LeBron's expectations would be. If he's just looking to end his career here, have his son be coached by Pop, and ride along with Wemby, then of course. LeBron is a great fit for our system and is still playing great. But that's a big IF. I doubt LeBron wants that. He wants to contend for a ring NOW. So if bringing him means we are going to go all in trying to win right now, trying our future picks away, trading someone like Vassel or Sochan, and just going all in trying to win next year, then no. Hell no. We are in a beautiful spot to be a legitimate contender within the next couple of years. Like OKC did it. And be set with a good team for the foreseeable future. If we trade that all away it can set us all the way back to how it was before Wemby. Then Wemby would leave San Antonio. And I'm sure LeBron would want to win now. Probably get us to trade for someone like Steph or Dillard. And give the whole future away. So it just depends on what he wants
