Lebron is just too old. My career in basketball is probably worse than Skips, but all I know is that between 42 and 43 I suddenly couldn't play like at all. Sure I can make someone who never even played hs look silly sometimes even if they are younger, but that's it. A few years earlier I could at least give anyone I've ever run into a game. Maybe didn't win but could defend and put up points. 43 I couldn't defend at all. So at NBA level I can't imagine. But that's what he had to do to beat Jordan. He had some meltdowns early in his career. So what he needed was what we had never seen before at his age. We aren't getting that. It's not really reasonable at all to expect that, and he plays amazing FOR his age, but in the end he cannot get it done at the highest level anymore. He can look back and be proud of how well he played at 40 even making games close at 40, but to make up for his 20s, we needed more for GOAT consideration. Still, you have to put him really high up there, just not quite that guy. I think he should retire. He has more money than God, played great at 40, he just can't beat the greatest anymore. No shame in that.

Paul, Lakers have a ton of talent. D'Lo has been great on other teams, Austin has been great, and Rui has been great. Of course, Bron and AD are all-time greats (AD's Advanced Stats are in the top 5 and 10 and 15 in a lot of metrics and we already know Bron is in 3rd place in the most important ones, right behind MJ and Jokic). They just don't play as well together because LA keeps trying to acquire players to build a playoff team, instead of keeping guys and letting them gel over time.

His ability to give them an inside scoring presence, be able to get guys open with dribble hand offs, his amazing court visions, leadership and poise is nothing short of great.
