I don’t know why bc he’s the only one who makes sense but the viewing public don’t want to listen bc the media has manipulated their minds with the lbj fake goat crap.
its insane how quickly people forget how well Harden n CP3 played together back then .. to say it didn't work is absurd. If not for the Warriors, that team would've gone to the finals at least once and probably had a great shot at beating the Cavs. A lot of people to this day, believe if not for injuries.. that team would've beaten the Warriors still.
@@rockowill8619 i agree BUT that series against golden state, CP was the man. He allowed Harden to really flourish taking pressure off him. When CP got hurt, the offense they had stopped. Steph couldn’t be contained anymore because CP was down. I rewatched that game plenty of times. Harden had 32pts, 6 rebounds, 6 assist, and 4 steals. If that’s chocking then sheesh.
@mrandithankyou Yeah, he definitely choked, his stat line doesn't matter, now if he wouldve won then thats a different story, people gonna bring up the choking cuz he couldn't get it done, he was surrounded by shooters and every single one of them, even harden went ghost. Can't have that type of support and lose. When cp went down, that was his time to shine, he did it during the regular season but just couldn't bring that out of him when it mattered most.
I fuck with Mccants but he wasn’t watching basketball when Kai and LeBron was teammates.. he literally said LeBron wasn’t effective in half court… like what
Nike & other endorsements gives him that 🤔🤣 Championships should be the only thing that should matter at this point. The Lakers can afford the tax exception if they are serious about winning 🤣
Bruh I would hope Bron would give up that measly 30 mil to go get a better player to help him win another ring 😂 I say measly like that's a small amount of money but we all know it's not
McCants saying CP and LeBron is dumb. Then he said Rondo ran the bubble championship, but bro was averaging 16 minutes off the bench. McCants got a hard on for CP and Rondo lol
nah he just believe lebron is way more lethal scoring, lbj can run point to start the game cool but mid 3rd he need a real point guard so he can seal the win unless he turns full point guard and lakers acquire don mitchell or pg13
Why would a millionaire take a pay cut when the owner is a billionaire. It’s the owners responsibility to make this work even if it means spending a bag to get it done
It’s not about the owners saving money. There is a cap and Lebrun would have to take less to make room for another star. All of that money is being spent regardless of which player it goes to.
They are not Rondo nor Russ either. They are spot up shooters which CP3 would end up being playing with Point Guard Lebron. Rondo and Russ ended up having to come off of the bench.
Gil’s the type of person you have to fact check everything he says cuz he be cappin “illegal to sign less than the max” lmaooo ask Westbrook if that’s illegal
@@skmanunitedWhy would the owners be able to interfere in another team signing a eligible FREE AGENT 😂 if so why did the league allow the warriors to sign KD ? 😂
@@kingDrAgOnZoRdS KD didn’t take less money it was Steph who was underpaid that allowed for that signing but once that time came warriors could resign them all and keep a bench. Not the same situation.
@@ajantsmith6139bruh he was averaging 16 ppg also coming off the Achilles injury prior to that. Love Kobe but he definitely was “damaged goods” his last few years in the league.
Its the Player's Association that wouldn't allow a Minimum Deal for someone of Lebron's Caliber because the potential to affect the "Fair Market Value"/Comps for every other player in the future that is eligible for a New Contract or Extension; let alone the bigger issue via the Collective Bargaining Agreement (current & future deals) between the League and Players.
Kmart said in other words, Let them fall on they face making accusations. Rondo definitely don't get enough publicity and fame, Winning in boston & L.A
@@Neogamingz bro thats my second favorite player allen Iverson was first then once rondo got to the league i hope right on him i told my dad he got potential and years later i was right
Rajon ran that thing? Lebron was moved to point that szn he averaged the most assists in the nba that szn lol this is why yalls argument about the bubble ring is so irrelevant cuz none of yall really watch the games lol yes rajon did a great job facilitating that szn but lebron was THE facilitator all szn and playoffs long
That proves nothing about the Bubble Title. No person thinking logically believes that playing a season out is 100% the same as a season stopping and starting back up
@@SonicBoomC98 everybody got the same time and rest off so whats your point? The season stopped and started again the same for every team in the league?
bro he is bitter af and hates anything lebron. and it’s annoying because he wasn’t 💩 in the nba. i can see if he made some sort of impact. he was a great “college basketball player”. a bum in the nba.
K Mart, what you talking about? James Harden and CP3 almost dethroned GSW in the WCF. If not for a foul bruh what is we talking about. I don’t think CP3 and Bron would work but terrible comparison. It wasn’t a fail. It’s the furthest CP had been prior to Phoenix
Kenyon Martin Makes the most sense in this podcast!! Tim Duncan took WAY LESS money to keep Ginobili and Tony Parker. Lebron ONLY cares about himself, he's a billionaire with a bunch of businesses. As A diehard Lakers fan, I hope he goes somewhere else! #PurpleAndGold #Lakers4Life
The paycut they are talking about that would affect James would be unprecedented...The league would probably veto it. He has taken a paycut before and the league frowned upon it...The players association hate when players take paycuts let alone a paycut of tens of millions of dollars...
@@msharp138 when it comes to LeBron its "damn if you, damn if you don't". its obvious that the league and the media are all just out there trying to protect their cash cow with blinded followers, the can-do-no-wrong "Jordan Brand" and the "alpha male mentality" "Mamba Mentality". Both toxic af and not really a good influence in the grand scheme of things.
Depends on how you look at it. Maybe it's not hating on LeBron per se but what he, the media, and his fans represent. I respect the fact that he ain't tiptoeing. Everyone else falls in the company line and don't want to say what they really thinking. Honestly I'm looking forward to him ruining his legacy even more. Dude always needs more help.
@@ChrisJones-cn1ew he’s 40! I’m not a bron stan so I’m not gone defend him . But they be on bron like crazy but give KD passes I just don’t get it . I just appreciate greatness
Earlier in this ame episode kenyon said he turned down 66 million because he wanted more why didn't he take the 66 so they could go sign a another piece.
@teresamcgee-vd2uc kobe case was different . Kobe was a draft pick and lifelong laker. Lebron was a high price FA, with no loyalties to the history of the purple and Gold. Legron cares about lebron, not laker history. It's not in his DNA.
In this particular situation it wouldn't even matter if he took less money. The Lakers are over the salary cap. The money thats left over wouldn't be enough to get the talent that's worth it.
But it would get him to .500, which imo would raise his goat argument immensely. 6-6 looks a lot better, because then hypothetically you could argue MJ had the potential to lose 6 more had he played in as much or as long.
What fans needs to understand is longevity means alot to many. Championships are team oriented and many things goes into winning titles. Longevity and stats lean more towards the individual...For me the Championships doesn't determine why MJ is my goat...I just believe he is a better player and I had MJ as my goat before he won one championship...
@@domage_5093What do you mean it wasn’t extreme? In 2010 Lebron was the reigning 2 time mvp & with Kobe the best player in the game. He has nowhere near the value at this moment in time than he did back then.
“Well, after I was finished with my Clutch sports duties on my knees, I wiped my lips and it came to me that any team that signed Lebron has the best path to a chip, because they’d be accepting greatness, just like I just did, and I hope they swallow and enjoy like I did.” Gil probably.
The CBA has several stipulations and bylaws that prevent teams and players from circumventing the cap. Contracts are going to be based on fair market value and the accolades of that players… Anti-Circumvention Rules and Minimum Salary Requirements A player eligible to earn $55 million a year that signs for even 10% less than that would alarm the NBA and more than likely initiate an investigation and that player would have to rework that contract to maintain fairness
@@terrenceboone5206 sure…I believe he signed a 2 year contract with the second year a player option, like $7.8 guaranteed If you’re asking why he signed essentially a vet. minimum it’s because it’s the most or close to the most he could get out on the open market, he declined heavily his last year with the Lakers where he made $46 million. He was only going to command a few million on the market, he determined at this stage of his career he wanted to stay in LA for his young family. I don’t understand what you are alluding to by asking me to explain that but if you think contracts always only go up in value you’re mistaken, you have to set that market every time your contract is up, it’s not different than a guy getting injured and losing value going into free agency
I’m starting to see a connection here … Shannon Sharpe seems to be on Brons payroll, I’m starting to think Gil is too. Notice Shannon and Gil do the show together for the NBA too 😂👀
If the NBA allows what kmart is saying, It would be a disaster for the league, lots of super teams will be formed and will create imbalance in terms of team roster. Big and established clubs can sign multiple superstars and role players leaving the small and developing teams at the bottom.
@@Really-ej8jt if you dont know by now inputting Bill Russell into the MODERN GOAT era is irrelevant.. then You just slow.. but YES !! BILL IS GOAT GOAT GOAT !! then MJ is GOAT.. Kobe is Goat! Lebron is a BITCH !!1 thats my point !! GET IT ?
@@wesleycarter7775 I know, I was responding to the post author. Rings shouldn't matter. Adam Morrison has a ring, does that make him better than Barkley, Ewing, Malone, or Stockton; no it doesn't. That was the point I was making.
I agree with Gil probably 70% of the time, but if you watch him enough the contradictions are wild. Especially when he talks about GOATs and past eras.
I think I get what Gil is saying is you can't legally start resetting the market because it affects the average deals for other players. It's like the current players set the market for all players in the open market. It's like Comps when it comes to housing. Almost like an arms length contract or selling a house to your friend for a dollar or something like that. I somewhat get it but it would have been better if Gil had the CBA in his hand or was quoting from it.
@@renerivota952 To you he’s not. To me he is. It’s all subjective because obviously anyone with any intelligence know that it’s impossible to actually compare LeBron and Jordan. It’s opinion.
It's like real estate. The average home values in a certain area let's say is $1mil and a seller wants to come in and sell their house for 100k, the appraisal will come in too high and the deal will not be approved cause it'll lower the value of that neighborhood. All residents in the area will sue
Lebron literally does this every fucking season. Last season he was talking about retiring and made the whole media talk about his ass instead of talking about how much of a failure last season was after the sweep. This season, they got a gentleman sweep from the same team and what did he do? “Its just basketball” and made the media talk about Bronny and his Player option 😂
@@addytrolla2535 Top 4? Theyre not even top 4 in the west lol.. theyre ranked 13th overall in league, and 7th in the western conference this season. Doesnt matter if they had the lead or not. They still got swept last season and got a gentleman sweep this season. And by the way, if Adam Silver didnt make this Play-In Tournament, the Lakers wouldve been on vacation sooner. So yes, it’s definitely a failure.
@RamessesIll Are you dense? The play in is only beneficial for 9th and 10th seeds. The lakers have never been below 8th, so if the play in never existed, the lakers would’ve made the playoffs regardless you retard
For some ppl, if Lebron had 6 championships and every other achievement possible, they would never place him above MJ. Let's face that up front. The fact that he'll never achieve that, they will never see him anywhere near Lebron, but that's cool. Lebron will be OK. He wasn't the one who had started that narrative. But what a mf run at it ? To be in the convo about it has got to mean something. I think he has one of the greatest stories in the history of sport, not just basketball. That, to me, has greatness written all over it, man. Just stand back and have an honest look.
Notice how he's all smiles and jokes until Lebron's name comes up. Dude's whole demeanor changes from his facial expressions and the energy he has towards the subject

Why does Lebron need to get the max? if he wants to win a championship take a less so that team can add...he already made his money. Ego and greed probably is Lebron's motivation if he takes the most money...smh.
A player announcing they're looking for an extension and the agent stating they're a free agent looking elsewhere is a bargaining tactic used by agents to get their player a good/better contract. It's used in football (soccer) all the time. Player's will pay journalist's to speculate that other teams are interested to also boost their value for contracts with their current teams. Sleazy but it works all the time.

Can he go to the Philadelphia along with Philly drafting his son and he can still get his money just a question Philly can pay him add him to the roster cause if you drop LeBron and Philadelphia with the team they already got I think they could win a championship with that team
If there is a rule against signing for way less, it would probably be due to competitive balance. Teams in certain parts of the country, will NEVER have a shot at a TOP 10 level talent as a free agent. Imagine 4 all stars taking 10 or 15 million for 3 yrs.
I get what Kenyon saying about the salary. But after Miami, LeBron said he's never taking a payout ever again. Funny enough, the Buss family isn't as rich as some of the other owners, meaning the Lakers as a business needs to operate at a profit. Gonna need to rely on shrewdness to make anything work. This is a tough one, for sure.
Joe smith was with Minnesota and they couldn’t resign him then he went to Detroit Minnesota lost first round picks for the next two seasons that was their penalty.
Hear me out: Veteran minimum, sign with the Mavs, the Mavs pick will be low enough to draft Bronny, no state taxes, perfect basketball situation. Kyrie & Lebron as your second and third options. Lively looking really good these playoffs. No two better people Bronny could learn the nba game from than Luka and Kyrie. Get you a 5th chip without need to put up 27-7-7 every night
There is absolutely no reason Lebron should take a pay cut when he significantly moves the needle in terms of player/marketing value. They should stop the nonsense. Change the CBA if you want salaries regulated further. The GM and teams need to work within what they agreed to in the CBA.
