Rodman put down BIRD in the 80's because Bird was cooking him so bad and he got frustrated. Rodman recently made the comments about Bird have to play i Europe because he wants to hear his name in the media. Rodman isn't the most stable minded person, never has been.

To me those two just had that knock you out attitude at the end of the game but there is another that came along right after those two that you could add. That’s Kobe. I don’t think he was at there level but he would kill to win. When Bird was asked who he’d take as a teammate, Kobe or LeBron, Bird said if I wanted to have fun I’d take James. City championship in high school. 3 NCAA championships and they took the dunk out of college basketball because of Kareem. I rarely take anything Isaiah Thomas says seriously. He’s NEVER gonna talk smack about Bird. There’s a clip floating around where he’s talking to Bird about how Bird saved his career by not making a big deal about the incident in the 80s. He obviously feels like he owes him so he’s gonna be biased. However, this time he explained why he said what he said and used a valid comparison in his statement so I’m taking this one as legit.

Yes to all that you said. I would actually argue that as far as importance in league history Bird and Magic (together) are more important than even Jordan. If it were not for Bird and Magic the league would have folded before Jordan ever entered. David Stern managed to be huge broadcasting deals that saved the league because of the appeal of Bird and Magic. Lakers vs. Celtics was can't miss TV.
Bird is the GOAT. You have multiple HOF's tell you they where afraid and could never guard him the whole game. He could do anything anytime he wanted. Even Jordan tells you. He never beat him! He didn't need to score 40, he could pass with the best of them. Listen to these stars tell you. Jordan is great and athletic, but he was afraid of Bird too.
