In this session, we will understand how exactly a change of water density affects a ship's longitudinal stability.
Whenever a ship moves from water of one density to another without there being a change in its displacement, there may occur a change in trim along with a change in the mean draft.
However, this change in trim is quite small.

So How do you calculate to find the location of LCF

LCF is the location of center of flotation w. r. t. Midship or some other reference. Center of flotation is centroid of water plane area & is also the point about which the ship changes its trim. Location of this point is simply found with the help of 'Simpson's rule'.
