The wild thing is that Ferrari didn't have a clear plan for how to deal with the undercut. Max starting on softs to Ferrari's mediums meant he was ALWAYS going to pit before Ferrari. That should have been obvious from the formation lap. Yet they just twiddled their thumbs and then went into panic mode when Max "undercut" them. Lol, no, Max just drove his race and Ferrari melted down.

Ferrari have always been my team. This is the most painful season I can remember. They have the car and drivers to win it all. The pit wall team is killing them.

I don't claim to be a major strategist or anything, but I swear anybody who had only started watching F1 this season has to have been shocked when Ferrari pitted Leclerc for the hards. I'm just baffled by that choice.

Binotto is in denial… they needs to go and get someone who is ruthless in.

Binotto missing the point completely. Even if the car wasn't fast enough to win, they could've gotten a podium at minimum if they stuck to a sensible strategy. Every weekend they're looking more and more like a joke.

Arrivabene was a great team principal. He just had bad reliability issues and a lot of bad luck under his tenure. Bimota has always been a clown in my eyes.

Mistakes will happen but the problem is Ferrari never admit their mistakes. Therefore they can't learn from them. Leclerc has made mistakes but he learns from them and becomes a better driver as a result.

it seems like they thought they were in a variety show, they spun the random wheel and the ticker ended up on "BOX BOX - HARDS".......... and after they did so, patted each other on their backs and had a laugh and beer in the garage.

Leclerc is going to have to leave this team because of their constant shitty decisions and lack of accountability on mistakes will continue to cost him races and he will never win a championship with them. It must be so heartbreaking for him given that he wanted to be a Ferrari champion. He has a way better chance at Mercedes if Lewis retires.

Binotto obviously gets paid more by mercedes.

RBR has for a long while been the team to beat when it comes to undercuts...I believe both Ferrari drivers still have lots to learn as the pressure they're under reflects there performance on track.

I'm struggling to think of a time when such a fast car and top notch driver were so badly let down by the team leaders strategies.

Killin it in the 50s, made it work in the 60s, killin it in the 70s, 80s and 90s were rough, got on some lithium in the 2000s, then some time in the 2010s just stopped taking it regularly, then just quit and now in the 20s everyone wants to like them but the good memories just keep getting overshadowed by the schizophrenia

As a Ferrari fan, what Sainz and Binotto is saying is utter rubbish - just admit our strategists suck and the pitwall is MOSTLY the reason why we are so far back in the WDC & WCC.

Consistent amateur errors that the team take no responsibility over will erode the drivers trust and confidence in them. Something has to give. I had such high hopes for ferrari this year. They started off beautifully but after the 2nd or 3rd race it went down hill in a hurry

Ferrari has never heard of damage limitation.

They were just guessing (predicting) that the hards would warm up. If I'm correct, I don't believe they even used the hards in FP1/2/3...All season, they've been best in hotter conditions, so surely they should have known that the hards wouldn't get warmed into their best working window. I understand Binotto making excuses for the team, he's doing as management probably should do in public, I hope he's going nuts at them behind the scenes and making some changes. Next year they should still be one of the faster cars, but they'll lose again if they don't get this stuff right!

Had Ferrari started on hards they could’ve gone for a one stop and switch to the softs. Yes they probably would be slower than those on soft or medium only but at least make only one stop and have warmed readied tyres for the major middle portion of the race

From the era when there were Todt, Brawn and Schumacher at Ferrari, and they were working together with the team to develop the car and to establish strategies, to the present time when pilots have no word to say, and are forced to cope with Binotto's decisions, with no clue about how these decisions were made, it is a very long nose dive from which, it would take years to recover, only if some F1 genius with strong will, would take over the whole mess and broom the trash out.

Wait, I'm confused. Toto seemed to suggest, that they (Ferrari) essentially ran out of tire options during the weekend before the race and the only legal tire change was to hard. If this is true and Leclerc doesn't understand this, then it reflects badly on Leclerc imho.

Leclerc need to have attitude like Sainz on the track in order to get more points because his team is such a disaster. When team have poor strategy, Sainz disobey and it paid off for him several times this season. Looks like Charles is afraid to step up.

Binotto will never admit to even the smallest possibility that they may have made the tiniest mistake. It always another reason or someone else's fault, I think that is what everyone including the drivers and the Italian public are finding more frustrating than anything else because without that obvious and truthful self reflection nothing will change, it will always be a problem and always cause issues. Its very much a Ferrari type of issue.

At the very least its a great looking car would look awesome without the roll bar.

I mean maybe Binoimanidiotto thought that with Alpine being a tear 2 car the Ferarris wouldn’t react the same way. But then again, as much I want to be pessimistic about it, he’s blown yet another chance. Enzo would be livid and that dude would be fired by now. But who’s there to replace him. I am a Ferrari fan and have been for many years. I am sad that they currently have the fastest car that is too often stunted by poor setup. They have the most powerful engine that is the most unreliable on the grid. They have good people at the factory but the strategists are poor. The strategy calls are on par with calls made during Vettel's Ferrari days too. Lastly, the drivers are making way too many mistakes with crashes.

russell gets pole and holds off ferrari far longer than i expected i was expecting him to get mugged in short order but no he battled it out and held them off while lewis was running around 4 or 5 places back , cut to the end of the race and oddly russell has now got no pace and lewis looks like a jet engine strapped to his car and passes russell easily far too easily imho (camera cuts to toto who looks smug as fuck) , now i watched highlights on c4 as i dont have sky so i didnt hear / get a lot of the radio msgs so was there a msg along the lines of alpha plan b which means nothing to us but to a driver it can mean many things like turn the engine power up or lewis is catching up dont fight to hard etc.

let the driver decide which tires and when then you don't have the problem
