Dr S is a great speaker, her diction is crisp and clear, and she doesn't waste words compared to her co-instructor. I presume the class is targeted at the first time student pilot, Dr G at times uses jargon that doesn't help, unless they're retaking the course.

I kinda agree but for me, the jargon works better. Jargon I find ok, but abbreviations I think are overused in aviation. It does not help readibility but makes it worse to abbrevate every word.

Minorities also require role models. None would be better than Dr. Srivastava. Remember the motion picture Hidden Figures that covers the lives of 1950’s black female And finally, as a major role model, is Dr. Ben Carson is recognized as one of the world’s There of course are other brilliant minorities who have achieves success in academia and However, it was Dr. Srivastava’s MIT lecture that captivated me, and due to her being employed in a senior position at Raytheon, one of America's leading R&D and defense

If you are prioritize your teachers by race and not by what they have to teach you.. you aren’t “woke” you’re racist.

She is not black, she is brown. She is from Asia not Africa. Don't just dump everything that is not white into one bucket. Diversity makes the world great, not mixing everything and making all equal. And yes, one of the great American heros and role models is for example Thomas Sowell. Minorities can achieve success in academia but is is a big mistake to promote or hire someone for their skin color and sex or gender only. Doing that is sexist and racist. And that is what is happening a lot at the moment. Hiring a black female just because she is a woman and black will in the long run just reflect negatively on black females. It will harm black females.

I wish the instructor didn’t ask 6th grade questions as review lol, like who in aerospace course doesn’t know latitude and longitude. Good to review though

GOOD TO GO Try CURRENCY. BLUE vs RED. Try MAGENTA. If your going teach an aviation class at least get the vocabulary correct.

Horrible lecture... As a CFII for 30+ years I can say there is a very simple and easy way to teach and understand airspaces. I start off by telling my students that airspaces are there to separate IFR from VFR traffic. That's it. Thats the only reason they are there. If everyone operated IFR there wouldn't be a need for airspaces. But since air traffic control deals with IFR and those participating VFR traffic there has to be way to separate them and they do that with weather minimums and the airspaces dictates those WX minimums. now they understand why there are then I Then I lay out the different types, G through A , and list each weather Min. and equipment needed for each, ONE AT A TIME. This way they are not confused. For example, Here's one question i like to ask.. whats the difference between controlled (E-A) and uncontrolled (G) airspace when operating VFR? I tell them NOTHING!!! BECAUSE ALL Airspace is CONTROLLED to a VFR pilot, they are controlled by weather minimums. The real question, to a VFR pilot is, is that airspace towered or non-towered. So Why "is" there controlled and uncontrolled? Again it goes back to IFR. All that means is an IFR rated pilot can fly in less than VFR minimums without being "cleared" by ATC while operating in uncontrolled airspace (G). So is that safe? No!! Is it legal? Yup! That's all that means. So as soon as an IFR rated pilot goes into controlled airspace (E and on up) he now has to be "Cleared" by ATC. But to a VFR pilot there is no controlled or uncontrolled... ITS ALL CONTROLLED to them... controlled by the weather minimums. They cannot not operate in ANY airspace unless they meet the basic VFR weather minimums. And the only airspace that VFR needs an actual ATC clearance is B. That's it.
