Dear Sir-Nice video, thanks. One fundamental question I have is the following. For a a simple RC network (at 9:50 time spot here in the video), I know it is first order. But what if we split the cap into two series combinations of caps, then we can set two initial voltages on caps independently, does it mean it is second order? I am sure I am wrong somewhere, could you please help me. Thanks!!
A storage element represents an order if you cannot combine the capacitor with other elements of the same kind. This happens when the component is not in parallel or series with other capacitors. If caps do not share node voltage and mesh current at the same time, they are likely to be considered independent and increase the order.
