Amazing thinker… unique in his own indomitable style…. Correlating Mahabharata and Opera …. …has an uncanny knack of captivating the audience with any subject.
Dear Justice Nariman, I wish I can hear you live some day - though I have "heard" you live so to say in court as well as in your chambers as counsel. The "hearing" that I now desire for is the voice of your form of a renaissance man 🙏
amazing memory. remembering the stories and names, without looking at papers, really amazing. @42:30 Duryodhan curse, I had read a different story about Gandhary opening the blindfold and gives his body indestructible except the portion which was covered in a loin cloth.
best parallel would be judiciary and Mahabharata judge being god (Krishna) looking after both sides knowing right and wrong.. strives for feasible solution for both and establishing justice. god is within all of us (parties to case ) fight among each other and try to get best out of war legally just like brothers in Mahabharata gods will fight unless and until earth and deed exist.. being a lucky person is Ved Vyas (people who read and experience such war) and telling future people what to avoid what to pursue and how to avoid war. (peace always wins)
Not very confident of my Mahabharata recollections, but I think Krishna fought the war entirely along with the Pandavas. But then again, partiality of judges might be something that you are hinting at with this parallel...
Sir, stratagem is there from the very beginning to end of Mahabharata. Right from young Duryodhana giving poisoned sweets to Bheem to building of the lac house Jatugriha to organising the game of dice to the various battle formations, or vyuh, including chakravyuh
Another parallel which could be drawn with in relation to changing sizes would that of Ghatotkach; who is known to have magical/divine powers and takes an enormous form at the time of his death and falls upon the kaurava soldiers, the second second one would be Lord Krishna who manifests his divine form when his attempts of mediation fail to avert the war and Duryodhana inturn i sults him.
Very interesting comparisons . Just to correct some minor mistakes. One Krishna was born in Gokul near Mathura and not in Dwaraka. And Khandavprasta was built by Vishwakarma and not Mayasur .
If any one has seen Boston Legal, then he or she will definitely find some similarities between our Hon'ble justice shri Rohington Nariman and Allan Shore..
Great parallel by Justice Nariman removed the fog raked by Modi to justify brahminical savarkari jinhavadi Manuvadi hindutva capitalist looteras while inauguration of Ambani's hospital. Modi literally declared on the inauguration that India has glory and Ambani is equipped with stem cell of Sita birth and surgery Marvel of Ganesh. Thnx justice...
Sir is yudhistra being son of the younger prince justified in asking to be the king when duryodhana was already crowned as the hier apperent, how would our current laws and court would have decided who to make the king
