I was raised in a Christian home and went to Sunday school and assembly every week and mid week. I have listened to zillions of sermons and lessons. I never heard about Grace or the Holy Spirit; just disconnected Biblical stories, and dos and don’ts. In my late twenties I left that denomination after hearing about grace and receiving the Holy Spirit. I was excommunicated from my childhood denomination and shunned by everyone I had known. Following Christ is truly the costly call. I have been on a journey ,led by the Spirit seeking to be closer to the Lord, and have been listening to His voice for decades. I had been asking the Lord to teach me about prophecies, because all I had heard and read made no scriptural sense to me. They seem to contradict. Someone ( not a believer) sent me one of Tim Mackie’s lessons.Wow! It was the first time that the dots were connected. All the sermons and stories became one story. Tim Mackie brings all the books and stories of the scriptures into one unified message of the Almighty God, the King is coming, the King is here, the King is coming again to finalize His kingdom rule. Everything makes sense of life here , persecution is man’s extreme rebellion against His Kingdom rule. Suffering comes to the Messiah’s followers because human’s are self willed and egocentric, their own god/idol. This complete overview sets my focus even more toward working to encourage Godly relationship in my home, country and the world. I am so thankful that His anointing really does abide with us, teach us, and lead us closer to being the image of God we were created to be. Thank you Lord❣️ To those who are questioning how do we deal with politics, I suggest you read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs ,20th Century Martyrs ( By Their Blood) and the books of Tom Doyle about how God is advancing His kingdom. It is estimated that 6 million Muslims are coming to Christ every year. They know that they will suffer and have a short life. Christ lived gently changing our hearts to align with the Heavenly Father and transforming our minds that they way we lead is to serve one another in His name. Love our opponents who are different in views from our views. Two thousand years later we are learning and aspiring to be more like Jesus. Jesus is therefore a forceful instrument to transform mankind back into obedience to God.

Thank you TIm Well, said, I never thought of it this way to stay under our government rule and pray to God for the change ( of course we do this as christians but, as Christians I don't think we see ourselves in power in that manner and think those prayers have power) but to your teaching it does. Voting is not typically a violation of anothers boundary. It is a statement from a very small state, the individual, that the kingdom consisting of that individual, is in agreement with this or that policy. This is especially true if one is voting for the option which most honours the freedom of the other kingdoms ( individuals).

It’s amazing to see this type teaching as it falls on deaf ears of those who think the last 4 years of politics in the United States were anything but ungodly. I pray God grants us all the grace to live for Him.
I agree that the “politics” have been ungodly, the meds being the antagonizers/ propagandists/ deliverers of much of it. But it hasn’t just been the past 4 years, it has been for many, many years, escalating tremendously about 11 years ago.

Because you have accepted Tim Mackie’s false gospel stated at about 1:9:20, you think the Gospel is “nonviolent prophetic critique” of whatever “establishment” you think is unjust by your own humanist standard, even though that is a false Gospel. You were so blinded by this that you were willing to accept a social gospel heretic like MLK as a gospel presenter simply because he did some good things, not even taking five minutes to see if he actually was an orthodox Christian who possessed the gospel. In reality, MLK’s good deeds were Pharisaical traditions that invalidated God’s law and rejected Jesus as God. Read Mark 7:6-13 and see that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, not by some vague social critique of humanistic justice, but because the Pharisees had replaced Mosaic law (justice defined by God) with their own human tradition and false justice. So the people we should be critiquing with the Bible are idolized Pharisees like MLK who invalidate God’s word with their humanistic traditions and false gospel, as well as establishment pastors like Tim Mackie who replace the clear teaching of Scripture on what is the gospel with their own pharisaical moralism.

Violence is not necessarily the same thing as physical force. Violence violates. Physical force may or may not be a violation. For example, if one sees a man attacking a child with evidently murderous intent, attacking that man would not be violence, as his actions have forfeited his sovereign jurisdiction over his body in this circumstance. Therefore the line of sovereignty over his body is no longer in existence to be violated, it is then only physical force.
Martin Luther King is such a great example of this kind of radical organizing and love. He used his church, allowed himself to be arrested, was non-violent, but spoke out against western capitalism, military action, and imperialism while seeking the benefit of all peoples. Even those who despised him.

Praise God! Excellent work in illuminating what is important.The Kingdom of God. Ecclesia is a political word long used before Jesus applied it to the Church. Augustine believed in force which was. not the power of God, hence we ended up with things like the inquisition and the Crusades. The Roman Catholic Church misinterpreted what the Kingdom of God is. Still does as well as many Protestant Churches. The reformers believed in state Religion once again not what the Kingdom of God is. They did bring in some positives but still got this Kingdom thing wrong. We were never told to rule over man. God placed in man power and rulership but in accordance of to His Authority. As Tim and the Bible says we have decided to rule according to our idea of right and wrong. We are all looking for Utopia, we are looking for what we lost. Every form of Government is trying to do this without God. As Tim mentioned it and Some people think Communism or Socialism does this but no Government is God's Government. including Calvinism. Jesus did not come bringing a religion and for the most part religious rulers attacked him for this. You lose your job. He brought a Kingdom which also challenged the kingdoms of this world and our own kingdoms and the Kingdom of darkness God's government is self government under the Governor God The Holy Spirit. This is what was lost in the Garden when we declared independence. Out temples became unholy. We lost the Holy Spirit. God gave humans made from earth the legal authority on Earth. God took himself out of the picture to be directly running things because he wanted to share his power. The Earth was prepared to be a Colony of heaven in the seen world and humans are to bare that image. As well as the Colony. Our Citizenship is in Heaven and Jesus will bring back Heaven to Earth. When we talk about the Kingdom of God we are talking about an unseen Kingdom of influence. This influence is in how we present the Kingdom to our neighbors and is where we are as Ambassadors of the Kingdom. In our work schools families and churches. The Kingdom of God is the most important thing to Jesus, because it is about God and us. The Death and Resurrection of Jesus pays the price for the rebellion of all. It cleanses us of that Sin and all the other manifestations of sin i.e. sins. what we do when we try to rule others and hurt his creation. Jesus is the door and the way to the Kingdom He is the King and the true Representative and image of God that we were suppose to be and can be. He is the first. The forgiveness of sins and Sin itself is vested in Jesus's work. and the purpose is to cleanse us so our Bodies can be temples for God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the most important person on Earth. Jesus our King is in Heaven with the Father. This is the big difference between the old and new covenant. Before the Holy Spirit would descend on mankind then leave. Now God can live in us and transform us to his likeness. the like was of our King his Son. Jesus. coming to Earth has all authority in Heaven and also on Earth. we live in a democracy and really do not understand Kingdom mentality. The Kingdom manifesto in the sermon of the mount explains how to get into the Kingdom partially and how to live in it. Jesus's birth and the Christmas story is about the promise in Genesis. How Mary's seed will crush the head of the serpent and how he will be bruised. Jesus had to come fully man and fully God to intervene in our world. You are illegal on this planet otherwise. God gave man authority. God's government was placed on this baby. A child was born to Mary a Son was given from God. Mary is the mother of Jesus not God Yet Jesus had a dual nature. fully man fully God. Jesus the Christ had to be fore saken and to take on Sin despite never sinning. God had to separate himself. Jesus cried loudly! why have you forsaken me. Good Question Man's rebellion resulted in death for Surely you will die. Man dies physically and in a sense Spiritually when he separated himself from God. The spirit lives forever but death is when it is not with God. Now you can see why Jesus had to become man. He will. forever be man. why because of us humans. Part of the trouble with "Christians" is they want to make people over to what they want. They want to go to Christian schools, jobs with Christian rules, and phones and computers, with Christian friends Jobs and have everything made over to their brand of Christianity. Hence you get this idea of political parties being for God or we use scripture as Tim says out of context to promote an idea or should I say a party I think if we are politicians then we should try and be Christ like in any party I am not American but what I see in the U.S. is that the right seems synonymous with God? I am not trying to influence anyone's voting but I also see it on the left a bit but not as much. God is on our side it must be right. it is like the Labour party in Britain campaigning and using the Parable of the labours in the vineyard and coming up with very different interpretations from each other while both having nothing to do what the message is. 3rd time through, i love this so much because it is Truth! I remember when i first realized this! I was just stunned when the Lord said to submit not rebel. If they submitted, the would be ok...like eat, drink, make babies, and it will be ok, but if you rebel, you will be slaughtered. That did not make sense! Just like you said...upside down! But as i kept reading and pondering how Daniel, Joseph, and the Apostles acted, i got it. I tried to explain that to others, but it made them more angry. I told the union i must join that i would never "demand" anything, but reason with those in charge and accept what came. When young, i was into demanding, but i saw our teachers on TV in terrible protests...their faces grossly contorted, yelling hateful things! These violent screaming people were supposed to be the gentle teachers of my kindergartner! I totally changed how i worked for change...that was before i realized Biblical, Jesus way. I was a Christian then, but not a Biblically aware or taught Christian. It makes perfect sense once you submit to that education and want to serve Christ, not self.

As Americans, our endpoint governing authorities are not humans, but documents. If a President commands you violate the US Constitution, you have a higher obligation to disobey that command. If a Governor commands you violate the State Constitution, you have a higher obligation to disobey that command. This is a form of government that Romans 13 was not written in response to. It seems to me any expounding of our Christian call to submit to governing authorities needs to account for this reality when the context is the American system of governance.

God is still on the throne. It seems like we have been given a blatant opportunity to be transparent with God and ourselves and allow Christ to shine through us. Our world is so introspective right now. The chance to preach and live as God's image is now!
Tim, no question; individually, we are to be meek and humble and influential in our society and culture (as much as is non-violently possible) with the gospel and with our obedience to Christ and our dedication to His truths. Now, Romans 13 clearly says, governments have the right and authority to “bear the sword” against evil and sin, otherwise sin would overtake the world. The Founders of our country understood this, and, in light of their recognition of the nature of man, instituted our form of government that upholds the liberty and freedom of the individual, and mitigates and diffuses authoritarian rule, which they also understood is detrimental to those under it as it is always prone to corruption. Our Constitution is a written decree that limits our government and its power, and those in places of authority, not the individual and his calling or, as our Declaration of Independence states; our “pursuit of happiness”. That is why we have all of the Bill of Rights (Amendments), protecting the individual and their rights (which the Founders realized were not from men and governments, but are from God). More specific, they realized that there may come a time when our federal government will step outside the bounds of their authority (again, those limits that are decreed in our Constitution). And our governing laws in the Constitution allow us as individuals to use force and violence (2nd Amendment) as a last resort, for the protection of our own lives and families, not only against rogue individuals who threaten us with bodily harm, but that of our own government! It is the very reason America threw off the British government and revolted for independence. So, if our governing authority (the Constitution) gives us the ability and permission, to use force when absolutely necessary for the protection of our own lives and our family’s very lives, not using force in those situations would be NOT complying with our government and the rights afforded to us by God (Romans 13!). So brother... I love your teaching of Scripture, snd the gift God has given you, but I think it wise to bone up on American history, and the influence of the Bible and its truths on past governments and peoples (as you stated here, you are not smart about these topics), otherwise you run the risk of making people believe that we as Christian Americans must submit ALWAYS to those in power: no exceptions.... which would be in violation of our governmental decree as expressed in our Constitution, and thus in violation of Romans 13.

Wow, 1st watching this in early 2022, Non-violent resistance and prophetic critique is essential now like Daniel, but Elijah prepared the site for Yahweh to deliver fire power as needed in emergency situation against corrupted religious officials. Elijah didn't call for drones and military forces that are not only pompous but financially ruining their own nations. Jeremiah was spared by incoming Babylonian forces after being hated and tortured by corrupted Israel, and now in 2022 USA high-ranking officials have the horrific spirit of Zedekiah it seems. Not a fan of Paul for reasons I won't eject here, but I certainly appreciate what you shared about the OT. I now wish I had taken a different major at UW-Madison 43 years ago!

The Roman empire wasn't set up like America. In America we VOTE for our leaders. Christian's are expected to take responsibility where possible to influence government. Those who say we shouldn't vote can't blame man or God for the troubles in our country. It is also one way of speaking for those who can't speak for themselves. (Such as the unborn.) Religiosity can be damning!
The problem is that there are now 45,000 Protestant denominations in the USA alone, each thinking that it only has the correct interpretation of scripture. Then all the "flock" rushes out to vote according to that understanding. Then there is Catholicism. Then there is the huge secular populus in the USA and other religions. What angers people in general is when Christians are always trying to force EVERYONE to live by their particular interpretation of the Bible. If you don't like gay marriage, then don't marry someone of the same sex. You do not have the right to stop people who are not even of your Church from getting married. If you do not like abortions, then don't get one. You do not have the right to stop everyone else. We also see that most evangelicals think that Donald Trump (who anyone with any spiritual discernment sees as a horrible soul) is almost the second coming of Jesus. People are just fed up and sick of Christians (who cannot even agree with each other) trying to force everyone else to live according to their rules. And when you scratch the surface, we find that their mega-church preachers are hypocrites who do not really live by those rules either.
We have nothing more important than the Gospel to share. becoming a citizen of a nation to spread the Gospel is more important than our rights. TBH. but Rom 13 sums up that gov. is a terror to all, but also to bad behavior.
Conclusion; By living up Jesus"s commands ,the church influences the world; and it does not includes violence. We still have to practice civil life but in a Christian way. if there is any retribution to wrong doing it comes in the form of justice and it is executed by God alone.
I have a question regarding something Tim mentioned in this lesson, but don't know which other platform I could use to ask, so I'll just ask here. He mentions that the author of Genesis makes a poetic summary of how God has created "humanity" in Genesis 1:27, and explains how the image of God is displayed in humanity as a whole. My question is, is humanity still the representation/image of God after "The Fall of Man"? I have heard people argue (myself included) that Genesis 5:1-3 is an indication that "mankind" no longer represent God as it says in verse 3 that Adam had a son in his own image, and that they now represent themselves if they have not submitted to Jesus as King.
Ceagen Louw my two cents is that you make a pottery for your kid so that he/she can reserve water with it for after days. But he/she uses it for something else instead, like pencil case. Does that mean your pottery cannot be used to reserve water any longer? Mankind is no longer images of God because of our sin but that doesn't mean we have no chance to become an image of God again. And we have been able to become image of God through his son's sacrifice via crucifixion.
Ceagen Louw, I am for sure no expert but I do love the Bible. I believe we have disqualified our selfs from filling the role of being considered images or rulers on Gods behalf because of sin. We choose a different route at the fall, so it's like we lost our potential. Through Christ I believe we regain that capability but that doesn't change that we are still in a broken world, in other words we are truly Gods children through Christ but everyone around us is still fallen. So we are little pockets of his will in a fast sea of brokenness. One day God will restore all things into the proper place, leaving everyone who choose to take part of this amazing responsibility of being made in the image of God will again work and rule according to his rule is a total and pure way.
Ceagen Louw hey. the answer to the question is we are still the image of God. that's part of what tics God off about what we do to each other and the world around us. as Tim said the Hebrew word used for image is the same word used to refer to idols, what do Images do ? they represent something or someone. in our case we represent God to the eorld, we are supposed to go around making the world beautiful and filling it with love and so on, but the fall was people choosing to decide what is good and evil for themselves. hope this makes sense
ok, I totally appreciate your question. Try this: Genesis 5:3, Adam begat a son in his own likeness, and again, after his image, so maybe this gives an idea as to why Jesus said we must be born again in His likeness by His Spirit. The Fall was drastic but Jesus came to us in human flesh Philippians 2:8. Lots to think about!

@Cydney Johnson the monarchy persecuted those who didn't agree with the state church, so the pilgrims left England. Then they taxed The People without allowing them to have a voice in the laws made... it was oppressive. Our Constitution allows for protest and enforcement by The People, even calling them a duty. Even Paul protested against Rome... believers don't have to be silent doormats. They have the freedom to work within the laws of their country.
Think we should all be able to agree that any politician who supports/ votes in favor of killing, because of their age or ‘perceived’ burden or ‘assumed’ quality of life, is NOT a politician that should ever recv our vote.
