I did the 3rd brake light mod..I got the new LED 3rd brake light and the led bed lights kept staying on. I figured out, if you take the white wire out of the plug it will go off and not stay on forever and kill your batteries and only the brake light will work so that’s all I did and it looks good. It’s an easy install, also one thing with the old trucks and LEDS they pull power to the source..this was my fix for it..Thanks for watching like and subscribe..

I found some of these are miswired. They connect all the grounds together so the light always stays on when, in fact, the brake light shuts off the ground. So I had to rewire the one I had.

Why not just turn the cargo lights off with the headlight switch. That’s how it’s normally done 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@Cody96 what about heading to the junkyard and getting a switch there? Thinking is later if you add a light bar out back you have a ready made wiring ‘n switch already.

Just switch the old fuse to a ep 27 fuse it should make it work properly

So I bought the same one you have and my old 3rd brake light was factory like yours and on my factory one both brake light bulbs were blown, but then i plugged the new 3rd brake light in and brake lights still don’t work. What do you think this could be?

Try to put a new plug cut the old one off and re-wire a new one really easy

Or take a test light and see if the light turns on when you stick it in the wire with power on
