This is a good side by side review. Though not done in a pristine scientific lab, you have given us an excellent comparison and you took the time to give equal conditions to both types. I've watched many reviews on LED lamps and either they are inside the garage with the bike two feet from the door with the light glaring in your eyes or they'll ride them on different roads so you can't really compare. (Though notice I haven't put up any video at all, so there is that). Anyway, this gives me something to think about. I do have my other bike that I converted but it is a 5x7 sealed unit purpose built not really a conversion. I may yet go with the high performance halogens yet as they will work better in the OEM housing with more defined cut off lines. Thanks for taking the time. Cheers.
@@Mtz-mi2dh This bike takes H7 lamps. I use Sylvania SilverStar lamps. They throw a much whiter light so you can see better at night. Sylvania also makes the Ultra, which may be better, but they are even more expensive and will last less than the SilverStar. The SilverStar is heads and shoulders above the yellow factory halogen.
@@Mtz-mi2dh I don’t have led lights. From almost everything I’ve seen online, the headlight buckets designed for an incandescent lamp don’t give a good result from led lamp conversions. Before I would throw money at led lamps, I’d try the SilverStars and see how they work.
@@blipco5 silverstars are still halogen right? I don't like it and ordered the leds. I think your right that its not ideal to place leds in the headlight buckets for halogen but in his review it works fine i think. Don't drive to much at night anyway
Yeah yours looks a little low , also thanks simon your videos helped a lot but I installed these with out the spacers/adapters they fit just fine without them
Hello Simon, I love ur videos. They are so helpful. I just purchased a set of LEDs and foot pegs from amazon. That save tons of cash from buy a rearset. And I have a question about the taller windscreen. How is the windscreen works compare to stock one? Does it worth to buy one?
My bike came with the taller windscreen I have not had a chance to ride it with a stock one. But with the tall the wind is not bad at high way speeds its better in a tuck position, But sitting up at around 80mph get alot of wind in my upper chest and head.
