LED halogen replacement bulb versus a standard 500W halogen bulb. I perform a side by side test illustrating the difference in light output and measure the difference in operating temperatures. The bulbs are tested using a double lamp Regent work light. The light was originally designed for standard halogen bulbs. If you liked this video don't forget to give me 👍. Is the LED any closer to daylight? I'm looking for good lighting for painting jobs. I feel my regular halogens don't show imperfections as well as sunlight.

Color wise it's more natural than a standard halogen, but it does not compare to sunlight. Missing the daylight hours here in the midwest. Come back sunshine!! Thanks for watching 👍😁

Those security bulbs, the LEDs can be purchased with different lumen output so wondering if you used the brightest LED available.

Excellent question Geoff! Unfortunately I do not have the exact specifications for these bulbs. It is a Familight brand 10W dimmable bulb (no other writing on the bulb). I am guessing around 1000 lumens. I will share a link to a bulb which I think is comparable below. Unfortunately I do not have any original packaging as it was given to me and purchased from a surplus store. These were a gift from a friendly neighbor. He originally found them at a flea market. They are awesome! I believe I researched the part number and found them or a comparable unit on Amazon.

@@FlatThunder the original halogen bulb. You said standard 500w. Is that a L-16 500w? Trying to replace my flood light bulbs with led and may go with the ones you linked if theyre the same size and or can fit.
