I like the way you ranked them. I also would put Led Zep IV as #1 in the way you ranked them by what influenced you the most. I wouldn't put it as #1 for their best album but it's the album that introduced me to Zep.
I am glad to see you doing some ranking shows. I love to see where my favorites place in other people's opinions. I go with the today combined with the way I used to feel about them so, I guess you'd say I grade them with a curve. The reason I opt for this is, there were a couple of albums that I didn't get when I was young but, totally love now so, I don't want to discount how I've grown to hear them.
I remember in the 80s Led Zeppelin was my whole world. I can definitely see Led Zeppelin IV being a lot of people's fave. If I remember right I actually cut my Zeppelin teeth on in my time of dying, I couldn't get enough of it and love how it rocks. I'm actually okay with some of the slower blue stuff like you shook me because of Page's killer solo and those thunderous drums. Yeah I would say I'm a bit burned out on Zeppelin so I don't play them as often as I used to but I still like all of it.
Great video and interesting rankings. One of the all time greats. My ranking. 9.coda, in through the out door, presence, III, Led Zeppelin, physical graffiti, II, IV, 1.Houses of the holy.
Love your video! I got problem to rank these albums, because I couldn't rank between LZ I & LZ II 😂 I think I'll put them both at the first place. Following 2. Houses of the Holy 3. Physical Graffiti 4. LZ IV 5. LZ III 6. Presence 7. In Through the Out Door 8. Coda
9. Coda 8. In Through The Out Door 7. Presence 6. III 5. Houses of The Holy 4. Led Zeppelin S/T 3. IV (Zoso) 2. II 1. Physical Graffiti For me #1 for 30 years or more
9. In Through The Out Door 8. Coda 7. Presence 6.Led Zeppelin III 5. Led Zeppelin I 4. Physical Graffiti 3. Led Zeppelin IV 2. Led Zeppelin II 1. Houses Of The Holy
4, 2, 1, 3 ...the rest, well, there are the obvious handful of stand-out tunes here n there, but I 'm basically indifferent about those records overall.
For me my 9, 8, 7 would be the same as you, but after that 6 through 1 could almost be interchangeable. I would say that for now it would be: 6. Houses of the Holy 5. Led Zeppelin 3 4. Physical Grafitti 3. Led Zeppelin 2 2. Led Zeppelin 1 1. Led Zeppelin 4
I would swap LZ 2 and LZ 1 (debut), the first album has a lot of those traditional blues influence...it seems they were still heavy in their influences, whereas LZ 2 was more of a statement that they had arrived as their own sound.
In My Time of Dying from Earls Court (on the LZ DVD) works a lot better than the studio cut; the visuals & Robert Plant's ad libs keep it from dragging on
A band I'm completey burned out on. Used to listen to them all the time back in the day but now they do nothing for me. I think its the overt blues influence I can't do it anymore. Same with lots of other classic rock stuff.
I'm not burned out yet ! I don't listen as much as I did once but every now and again I can still enjoy a listen. They have that great quality of sound and song which is the best in all of Rock music.I don't think they sound dated to this day.
